Luke 1 recor, 42When Elizabeth heard Mary s greeting, the child leapt in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and exclaimed with a loud cry, Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. 43And why has this happened to me, that the mother of my LORD comes to me? 44For as soon as I heard the sound of your greeting, the child in my womb leapt for joy. 45And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfilment of what was spoken to her by the LORD. Notice that Elizabeth used the word LORD to mean GOD. This means that Elizabeth knew that Mary was to be the mother of GOD. The people had waited a long time for the appearance of GOD AS SAVIOR to deliver them from their enemies. But we know that the real enemy was their many sins. This is what Elizabeth was talking about. So when the people refered to Jesus as LORD, they meant that they considered him to be God. The sense that the word LORD means GOD has been lost in today 's religious world, but this was not so in the days of John the Baptist and Jesus. What I am saying is, we must bring it back. Paul said in Romans 10 that we must confess "that Jesus is LORD OR GOD " in order to be saved. He goes on further to say that we must also believed that Jesus raised himself from the dead. And he tops it off by saying that anyone who prays to Jesus by calling on his name will be saved. Please consider this! "

Luke 1 records, 13 But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. 14 And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth, 15 for he will be great before the Lord. And he must not drink wine or strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother 's womb. 16 And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God. This speaks of the work of John the Baptist. Notice that it referes to John 's turning the people to Jesus as turning them to the LORD THEIR GOD. And notice, too, that the angel used the words LORD and GOD to mean the same thing. This means that when the people refered to Jesus as LORD, they meant that they considered him to be God. The sense that the word LORD means GOD has been lost in today 's religious world, but this was not so in the days of John the Baptist and Jesus. What I am saying is, we must bring it back. If the first month is April, then October is the sixth month, which will render the birth of Our Lord round about July and not December 25.

Mary 's gift to Christianity is her unique relationship with Jesus Christ. Each christian has a valid relationship but no other christian has such a unique relationship. Only the first Christian, Mary, could give birth to her own savior and nurture her savior into adulthood to save the rest of us. That 's what Mary is telling us. That 's why catholic and orthodox christians venerate Mary. Its the unique relationship that is venerated.

There is safety in walking before God. Also, you are assured of divine guidance because He not just Alpha ,but Omega. God has already gone ahead of you and arrived at the destination He is taking you. He knows all the booby traps on the way so He can safely lead you there. The question is: How pliable are you in God's hand? To what extent do you yield to the control of His Spirit? Ask God for grace to walk blamelessly before Him until He takes you home.

I enjoyed reading Luke, chapter 1. My heart felt happy as I read Elizabeth's comment, but even more as I Zechariah's comments one his tongue was loosed. He praised The Lord, prophesied on his son John that he would go before The Lord. Lord loose my tongue to tell others of your saving grace, help me to prophecy of you goodness and saving grace for all men who would come to you to receive it. Amen.

A holy "thing", sounds unwieldy to me, but that is exactly what my old King James bible says, so I won't argue with it, especially since my salvation depends on it. Praise The Lord, holy is His Name.
