Just a thought, but I wonder if maybe evolution still takes place in the sea and everything? Because it could happen in such an amount of time that to a being like God it seems like it's only a week.
  • Fakolujo Oluwafunmike on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
When God says lets create man in our own image ,He was talking about the trinity i.e. God the father , God the son (Jesus )and God the Holy sprit. In the new testament when Jesus was talking 2 His disciples , He says....... Even before the world was I AM I AM that I AM . Also in the book of proverb he confirms this too .
  • Heron Diaz on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
We need to understand time if we are to understand what happend during creation. God's time is not the same us our time. The word image actually means that God made us with the ability to create. God was speaking with Jesus in begining (read John 1:1). Jesus always made the distinction between He and the Father (God).

who is God referring to when he used the term (us & our image?)
God ended his work on the 7th day to rest, but in chapter one he created man and woman, so who were they? if adam and eve were not created until after the 7th day

Let us make man in our image

Was God speaking with Jesus himself? If so does that mean Jesus was reincarnated when he became flesh?
  • Philippe S. on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
Yes, He was refering to the Trinity....because in the verse 1 in Hebrew bible, it says Elohim which mean God(s) so he was refering to the Trinity....
  • Stevie on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness"

Do you know who God is referring to when he says "us"? Could it be angels?

I like the AUTHORIZED KJV. The NKJV changes a lot of the meanings of the verses. Put them side by side and compare.
  • Helpology Founder on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
What version of the Bible do you think we should use for Helpology? Helpology's Christian mission is to glorify God by creating the world's most helpful service. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  • Johns Simon on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
I always thouht the KJV is the best versionof all the Bible version. But I thought about making a revised version of it avoiding old phrases and usages like Ye,Thine,Thou,Whence,Shalt, hath, hast, doest doeth, wilt etc
What you think about it?It is not like the NKJV but lot different from it.

I think Cain's wife probably had to have been his sister since Eve was already Adam's wife.

Throughout the genealogies and censes recorded in the bible it was mainly the males that were recorded. The females were not recorded so much.
There probably are many males that were not recorded as well.

We have to belive God's. Word we would not be here on earth if it was not for God God sent his son so we might have life for ever and be forgiven of our own sins we committed .
  • Mark on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
There are 9 verses in which JESUS says, My Father which is in heaven.

When Jesus prayed, who did he pray to? Himself or his father?
  • Mark on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
Who is the Father that Jesus speaks of which hath sent him? Is the Father God?

If the Father is God, Why did Jesus say Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape? If Jesus himself is God, speaking to them and standing with them in person, How could this verse be truth?

    JOHN 5,37
And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
  • Dan on Genesis 1:26 - 12 years ago
Hitherto, God saw everything he created as good but after creating man in His image, he saw everything as VERY good. and he did not just command ('let there be') man into being but consulted ('let us create')with Father, Son and Holy Spirit and thee show the importance of man above all other creatures of God the Almighty Creator.
  • Enock Hadiwamwe on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
I think the holy spirit was working all over because God was the main actor
  • James Olukayode on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
I wonder what prompted God to creating nature and its constituents, including man. It beats my imagination where God was before heaven and earth were created. Questions upon questions invade my mind endlessy.....All I can say is that "All things take thier source in Him"
  • James Olukayode on Genesis 1:1 - 12 years ago
The triune God made the universe. John 1:1 elaborates this further. Jesus is the the word by whom the world was created, while the Spirit of God hovers, to give creative power to the words declared by God the father
  • Mprince on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
Mark...all through the bible you find just how powerful God's spoken word was and is. God spoke the world into existence. And Jesus(the Word of God) simply spoke and the seas were calmed, demons were cast out, blinded eyes were opened, the lame were able to walk and with His spoken Word Jesus raised the dead! John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. Jesus I believe, is the outward manifestation of God! In other words, Jesus is God!

    Verse 5

The LIGHT was called DAY, Not the DARKNESS
  • Joel on Genesis 1:5 - 12 years ago

In the beginning, Did Jesus exist in spirit only with his father and then became flesh?

The bible says God's word became flesh.

Is God's word a spirit? and then became flesh?

In the beginning, Did Jesus exist in flesh with his father then became flesh again?

Did God turn himself into flesh and sacrifice himself?

The bible says God gave his ONLY BEGOTTEN son.

Was Jesus begotten in heaven or on earth?

Did Jesus exist in heaven before he was begotten?

We know God's word existed before Jesus because God's word became flesh and hence Jesus was begotten.

We know that God is able to speak hence we have God's word. And God's word did exist in the beginning.

When did God's word become flesh?

Did Jesus exist in spirit in heaven? If so, Was he then considered God's son at that time?

Was Jesus considered God's son at the time of begotten?

Why does the bible say God's word became flesh instead of God's spirit became flesh?
  • Aldy on Genesis 1:26 - 12 years ago
In Genesis 1:26, the Father used the "US" and "OUR". This means that with the Father existed the Son and the Holy Spirit in the very beginning of the creation. On that time Jesus already existed with the Father Almighty in divine nature and with the Holy Spirit. As Jesus said in New Testament that He is existance before the earth was created. He also said "the Father and I are ONE". Another Bible quote: "FROM THE BEGINNING IS THE WORD, AND THE WORD IS GOD, THE WORD BECAME FLESH AND DWELT AMONG US". This is very clear that the GOD existed in 3 persons: FATHER, SON AND THE HOLY SPIRIT. 3 PERSONS IN ONE GOD.
Others may say, how come that God in 3 but 1 God. Anyway that is the mystery of God that no one can deeply understand that mystery. We cannot measure the mightiness of God. Because if this mystery can be understood easily, you are merely more than Him... God bless us!
  • BOBBY MCBEE on Genesis 1 - 12 years ago
THE KING JAMES VERSION IS THE ONLY TRUE BIBLE.JESUS IS GOD AND EVERYTHING TO ME...
  • ARNOLD on Genesis 1:2 - 12 years ago
Before the beginning of the earthly creation, God had created the heavens and the earth. Lucifer rebelled against God and was cast out of heaven. Lucifer, who became furious because of his eternal overthrown, destroyed the beautiful earth of that time and the earth became void and formless. God is God of Order. Satan is the master of disorder and confusion. But when God's time came, the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters and strated the work of creation because God had already prepared a plan for man's salvation and redemption. We read in the Book of Revelation "Lamb that was slained before the foundation of the earth" speaks amply of God's plan. And now Satan, who destroyed the beautiful earth, is eternally defeated by Christ on the Cross and my brothers and sisters, the way of salvation and redemption is open for us all, Jesus being the door. Praise the Lord. Hallelujah.
