Even more revealing is the revelation that God's 3 selves talk to each other. This is God talking among himself. What I am saying is, the self distinction of the Son talks to the self distinctions of the Father and the Holy Spirit. This is how God makes his dicisions. We shouldn't be suprised at this because it is much the same way we talk things over within ourselves.
We see this taking place in Gethsemane when Jesus said to the Father, "My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me." We don't hear what the Father is saying because the Father does not speak so that we can hear him. Jesus said that we have never heard his voice, and we never will. In other words, all the words we will ever hear from God will come from Jesus. This will be true even when we are in heaven.
What we are talking about is self identity or persona. God has 3 personas: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus, then, is the persona or personality through whom God interacts with the human race. The Father is the personality by which God directs his affairs. And the Holy Spirit is the way God inspires us to believe in what is taking place.
The trouble is, we tend to think of God as a composite, made up of 3 separate parts combined into one. But this is not so. If it were, then at one time there wpuld have been 3 Gods. This is what the pagans believe.
The one God is 3 distinct persons or selves. This is what the Bible teaches and what we must believe. Let's say it this way, The same God who is Jesus, is the same God who is the Father and the Holy Spirit. This is how Jesus can say that if you have seen me you have seen the Father. In other words, they along with the Holy Spirit, are the same God.
But the bottom line is: Jesus is the way God deals with us, and always will be!

We all begin with a carnal mind that must be renewed.
The Bible is to feed the carnal mind unto salvation.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer me.
(Is. 44:24)
“You, God, even You alone, You have made the heaven...the earth and all things” ( 2 Kings 19:15).
“You are the Lord, even You alone; You have made the heaven, the earth and all things” ( Neh. 9:6).
As to the whole seperation of the waters i think the earth was an idea in God's heart hence the 'formless and void' bit so he created space aside from heaven and shaped it. So maybe the firmament that seperates heaven and earth would be space, but hey i could be way off.
The most humbling thing to me in Genesis 1:1
The fact that God was, always has been, and always will be. Yet he planned in all of time to create me, and knows every detail of me. He cares very deeply about me, loves me p***ionately, no matter how utterly flawed my choices are in life. I come to Him in gratefulness to because of His amazing love.
