Hello Paul Porter I would not change a thing in the Bible. Let me tell you why. A very long time age I studied where the Bible comes from and what I actually saw with my own eyes is that there is very little change from the original, to the Great Bible, to the King James Version in translation. What I mean by this is that the meaning of the scripture is still intact. The message has not been tampered with. These new versions, a lot of them distort the Bible, the meaning of the scripture, and the context. Now if someone wanted to change the wording then just change the words like thy to you perhaps something like that, but to change a lot of words to construct sentences in our language unless God gives inspiration to that person, will alter the meaning of the text. There is an old saying, if it ain t broke don t fix it . Why tamper with the word of God. See we have forgotten the scripture where it says the Holy Ghost will teach you all things and bring all things back to your remembrance whatsoever God has said to us, John 14 26. I rely on the Holy Ghost for teaching, revelation, and understanding.

Hello Tom T Each day in which something was created God ended with and the evening and the morning was the . He either had Moses write it was the first, second, third, etc. day. The Heaven and the Earth that is spoken of in verse one is the Heaven and the Earth you see now. Because in verses 9 and 10 he gathered the waters under the heaven and then he placed the Earth there also. Then in Chapter 2 verse 1 leads you to believe that there is more than just one heaven. Instead of saying heaven and earth the scripture states that there are heavens and the earth. Naturally we see the heaven which is above us. Then there is what some people call the heaven or universe or galaxy whatever further above the heaven. I know that according to scripture there are at least three heavens. 2 Corinthians 12 2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, whether in the body, I cannot tell or whether out of the body, I cannot tell God knoweth such an one caught up to the third heaven. Exactly how many heavens there are I do not know but I do believe that there is more than one Isaiah 42 5 states Thus saith God the Lord, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein Then there is a heaven in which we do not see that is where God, the angels and other beings and creatures reside, Revelation Chapter 4.

I have read the Bible several times and of course it was basically of it 's time and displays the level of knowledge posessed by the authors and editors. Genesis 1 is quite beautiful as a composition if you don 't take the words literally it means much more. Obviously it is written from a Judao Christian perspective so has to reinforce that kind of dogma. It 's a little outdated now perhaps someone shoul upgrade the current Bible into 21st century language so the faithful can understand just what they are being asked to believe, Peace to all.

Genesis 1 1...Is taken from the old King James Other Bibles written after the old King James use the word Heavens In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And they get that word from verses 6,7 8, where God calls the firmament heaven and that would be the first heaven where the birds fly. Verses 14 through 17 God creates the second heaven and places the sun, moon, and stars in it And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth. That would be the second heaven So here we go... In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Verse 1 of Genesis is the whole of God 's creation In verse 2 and following is God 's explanation of His creation and what took place in the six days of creation. You will note in verse 1 that God created the heaven Singular and the earth. This heaven that God created I believe is the heaven where God and the angles reside the heaven we cannot see. The bible talks about there being three heavens one is where the birds fly the second heaven is where the sun, moon, and stars are. And the third heaven is everywhere, as though nothing else existed This is where God is. God is omnipresent. He is everywhere at once. God is the alpha and the omega The beginning and the end The I am that I am. Please respond to this

Hello Gabriel I would like to add to my comment that I posted which I hope will come out today or tomorrow. God is going to burn this heaven and this earth up with a fervent heat. 2 Peter 3 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Matthew 13 40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire so shall it be in the end of this world. Then Revelation 21 1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away and there was no more sea. In the very end, God is not going to redo this heaven and this Earth. He is going to burn up this heaven and this Earth and put a new one in their place. So whether or not we send people to Federal prison or just give them fines for abuse God is still going to destroy everything in the end.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Genesis 1 - 10 years ago
Hello Gabriel Are you referring to how society treats animals, as in abuse? I do not believe that animals should be abused. However, I do not think that they are on the level as human. If a person is caught abusing them they should not be handed a Federal indictment. A fine and or community work is sufficient. We are to be good stewards over the things that God has given us dominion over. Does this mean that we cannot kill them for food and clothing? The answer is no. Those people who view animals on the level of human need to understand that animals have no souls. In Genesis 2 7, Adam was the one that God breathe in his nostrils the breath of life and he became a living soul. When Noah built the Ark and the animals and the Noah, his wife, and their three sons and their son s wives entered the Ark the scripture states that only 8 souls were saved. This scripture is significant because it denotes the fact that God recognized the humans with souls and the animals did not have souls. If animals had souls then God would have had it written that every soul in the Ark was saved instead of distinguishing that only 8 were saved. 1 Peter 3 20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

Jon the Bible is an Historical record if you read the whole Book you will see the truth if you have eye 's to see but many who say they understand the scriptures and are filled with the Spirit are not so you have to read it for yourself and test their fruit to see if they are telling you the truth. You and God and ask. Trying to Find a Holy person in this generation is like looking for a needle in a hay stack. Once you have the key you can tell the elect from the traditional teachers who make void the word of God.

Hello Jon Bovelgoush Genesis along with any scripture can be understood with the help of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Ghost, John 14 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. In the end, you need to follow Acts 2 38 to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. You also need to sit up under a Holy Ghost filled preacher who have followed Acts 2 38.

Genesis has served to address questions held my many. How could you begin to explain what can not be understood? Genesis has done that for many who had no understanding of science and in times before there was an opportunity for education. Genesis fills in the void that is ignorance. It is certainly not a historical record but it is certainly filled with good lessons and principles that should not be wasted even though our understanding of the world and the universe has expanded in modern times.

Evangelist Chatauna Robinson Well, if you notice in the word Romans 9 and Malachi 1 that God loved Jacob and hated Esau you have to realize God lived with them and also read Jeremiah 1 vs. 2 and 3 and God knew Jeremiah before He place him in his mothers belly. Also you can go to the appendix 's of the Companion Bible and read app. 146 and it will direct you to the verses of the usage of the word foundation and it will help you to understand the New Testament and the mystery of God of the first earth age. Also the side notes on the pages of a Companion Bible help a great deal in understanding the word. We know God created a beautiful earth and all the stars sang and the sons of God shouted for joy and that 's the whole batch of souls God ever created in Job 38vs 7. God created a beautiful home for all of us in the beginning millions of years ago Proverbs 8 vs 22 27 so just read the Bible, have an old Exhaustive Strong 's Concordance and clear your mind of the teachings by men and just forget what all of them said.

Hello Word I would like to ask, Where is the scripture that backs up your claim that there was another Earth age where all of us lived with God before Adam was created? The Bible I am reading tells me that there is one Earth. The new Earth will not come until God destroys this one. God created the first man Adam out of the dusk and breath the breathe of life and he became a living soul.
  • Word on Genesis 1 - 10 years ago
Gayle Adcock just a thought since I mentioned Jeremiah when your reading scripture don 't let the little things just pass by. Jeremiah 1 vs 5 comes to mind where God says before God formed him in his mothers belly God knew him. Then God says before Jeremiah was out of the womb God sanctified and ordained him as a prophet unto the nations and that 's why you want to read the whole book caus it was to us.Jeremiah has important information about false teachings Anyway God lived with Jeremiah before he was in his mothers belly. Lived with us all in the first earth age.

Gayle Adcock In Genesis 1 vs 2 the word WAS is hayah 1961 Hebrew BECAME without form and void. In 2 Peter vs 3 tell us of the heaven and earth that was of old speaking of that first earth age standing out of water and in water and we know that it was beautiful as told to us in Isaiah 45. In 2 Peter 3 vs 6 speaking of that earth age before the world that was overflowed with water and perished. We know that destruction took place in Jeremiah 4 vs 22 to 31 and also in vs.27 you notice that earth itself was not to a full end so earth was just fine but it was a wasted wilderness. No Noah 's family or boat or bird or twig God said in Hebrew He submerged it and wash it. Then in 2 Peter 3 vs 7 Peter tells us that the earth he is standing on is and this flesh age is reserved for judgment of ungodly men. That 's what this earth age is about to make a choice Father who loves us or Satan and wickedness. I will have more.
  • Word on Genesis 1 - 10 years ago
Gayle in Isaiah 45 vs 18 we learn God created earth beautiful, established perfection implied, to be inhabited and NOT without form and void. And in Proverbs 8 vs 22 to 31 we learn wisdom was with God creating earth and nothing was created in chaos when wisdom is there. Don 't miss who was there with God, wisdom, and the sons of men. God told Job in chapter 38 vs 7 after explaining creation and putting the earth in motion that the stars sang rejoicing and the sons of God shouted with joy and we know that is every soul created In Genesis 1 vs 2 the world without form and void. And I 'll look up the rest of the story I 'm very old and need sleep but I want to get it right to the point

I am currently reading a book called The Genesis Enigma by Andrew Parker. I would strongly recommend it to all. The book educates the reader regarding how the creation and evolution are combined. Even independent of this book the mars explorer sent by NASA found the content of the water discovered on that planet NOT THE SAME as that in our oceans.I should point out that where the oceans came from is an ongoing puzzle for scientists.

  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Genesis 1 - 10 years ago
Hello Gayle Adcock Didn 't nothing happened. If I can say it like this, the writer Moses inspired by God let you know that God created both the heaven and the earth. Then he went on to explain to the reader how he done it. It s like reading a good book the writer catches your attention and then explains what caught your attention. For a very long time people have been trying to find fault in the Books of the Bible. They have been trying to discredit the validity of the creation. However, through faith a true Christian does not have to have proof that it happened. We believe that it happened without a shadow of a doubt. The trick of the enemy is to get us debating everyday all day about things like this and not focus on the true purpose of this time period we are now in, the Grace Age or the Dispensation of Grace. Under this Dispensation of Grace you must follow Acts 2 38 in order to be saved. If you do not then you will become lost. If you happen to live during the tribulation period then you will have to make a choice to either get your head cut off or take the mark of the beast, the 666.

Hello Vince You can explain anything you want. I know that our time is not God s time, 2 Peter 3 8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day . Some people may say that for each creation it took God one thousand years based on this scripture. I know that the 7 days of creation does not give the time span in which it happened. I do not believe that it took him one thousand years to make a man. The point is God is the author of time. He can do things in one second or one thousand years. When he comes back to get his saints he is going to change them in a twinkle of an eye. 1 Corinthians 15 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed . It still does not negate the fact that there is more than one heaven. Listen we can debate about the creation all day. Unless you have true faith in God you will still question the creation. I do not question it, because if the Bible states it was done then it was done. I have experienced Acts 2 38 therefore I truly believe in what the word states.

Hello Paul Barker and Abner Paul, I do not understand your point about the creation of man either? I stated right below your statement that man was created on the sixth day. It was explained in Chapter two how God done it. It clearly states that after he stated let us then he did the work, Genesis 1 26 27. If you both read up under Chapter 2 of Genesis you will read my response 10 21 14 at 8 10 am to George about God resting.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Genesis 1 - 10 years ago
Hello Paul Barker I do not understand your point about Adam having a soul? Man is made up of body, soul, and spirit, 1 Thessalonians 5 23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless into the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ . The reason why I stated that he has a soul is because after God breathe the breath of life into him he became a living soul, therefore he has a soul. The point is that God, who inspired Moses to write the first five books of the Bible, had him distinctly write that particular difference between man and the other creations he made. The other fact is that there is nowhere in the Bible where it mentions souls that it refers to animals. So even if you wanted to argue the point that Adam became a living soul instead of having one, then the other humans that came from Adam had a soul as well. Once again the important thing here is that God made it a specific point to make sure that Moses wrote the difference between the creations. After the flood and everyone was destroyed the Bible only mentioned that 8 souls were in the Ark. We know that there were animals in there, so then the 8 souls were human. This is another distinction that God had Moses to write. In the end, all of these people who are saying that their animals are like human they are not. They have no SOULS.
  • Abner on Genesis 1 - 10 years ago
Man was created on the sixth day period, after the animals. And on 7th day He rested from His work.
  • Paul Barker on Genesis 1 - 10 years ago
My previous comment didn 't read quite correctly in the preview, and symbols other than qoute such as parentheses, plus and equal don 't show up. It should have read "dust of the earth plus breath of life equals living soul. "
