Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Exodus 7 - 10 years ago
Hello Vedamony Titus Yes, we do have a free will. There are examples of men given a choice to follow God or follow evil. Exodus 32 36 Deuteronomy 30 19 Joshua 24 15 1 King 18 21 Jesus said that you cannot serve two masters, Luke 16 13, in other words make a decision on who you want to serve. You even have a choice whether or not you want to follow Acts 2 38.
Many people at workplaces mistreat Born again christian as Pharaoh did to the children of Israel. However, Our Mighty God will NEVER FORSAKE his people; they cheat their pay , they segregate payment etc. I find great meaning in this verse. Be Blessed. Amen.
This verse demonstrates the point that the term God/god can apply to creatures. Trinitarian M.J. Harris says in "Jesus as God, the New Testament Use of Theos in Reference to Jesus" that the terms ‘god’ or 'gods’ apply to the following persons:
“Human rulers or judges, regarded as divine representatives or as bearers of divine authority and majesty ( Exod. 21:6; 22:8 [cf. 1 Sam. 2:25]; Judg. 5:8; Psalm 82:1, 6) b. Spiritual or heavenly beings, including God ( Gen. 1:27) and angels ( Psalm 8:6 [Engl. V. 5] c. Angels ( Ps. 97:7 138:1) d. Heathen gods with their images ( Exod. 20:23; Jer. 16:20) ... both el, [meaning ‘god’] and elohim [meaning ‘gods’], have extended or ‘irregular’ applications to angels or to persons who represent on earth divine power, judgment, or majesty.” - pages 24, 26.
5 And the Egyptians shall know that I [am] the LORD, when I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them.
In this verse: It shows GOD's JUDGEMENT on those who oppose his WORD, yet he shows HE has all power. HE will bring HIS children out of EGYPT. We being HIS children are in EGYPT, HE will bring us out.
