Pray ,do what you can for others, study. (the Bible)Some days may seem easy & flow from one day to the next ,some are hard,& filled with steep hills& curved paths. Be steadfast, even if you are exhausted, keep putting one foot in front of another.Have & keep the faith. It brings forth joy in the good times ,supports in the bad.

I had the most wonderful time this morning reading all comments and the explanations about this chapter after reading the entire Chapter 1. I thank God and praise The LORD for all of you. I seldom read something that really encourages me, specially when you are in bed sick and covered with boils. It is not like Job, but enough to pull you down. Despite that situation, I want you all to know, you all made me so comforted. I love to read from the saints comments all the time. I continue to pray for all of you and we continue to pray for Israel's safety and salvation. Agape.

The Lord is praised and the work is able to move forward when we realize that justification in Christ is by faith alone, with out the works of the laws of Moses and traditions of men.

God bless all on this forum.

My GOD is an awesome GOD, and HE reigns from the heavens above. If HE can create Adam and Eve as adults why should there be a problem with a 24 hour day. My GOD is capable and able to do exactly as given in the BIBLE. HE spoke and it was so.

I choose to believe in the creation account as given by GOD in HIS Scripture. Everyone has to make their own choice or choices. May the LORD be praised and magnified as we bring our prayers and supplication to HIM regarding our present situation. Rising gas/oil, food, prices, pending war, social unrest, and spiritual and political leadership that needs to get back to leading.

These are just my thoughts, may the LORD bless all on this forum, and grant us peace and comfort in HIS Name.

Thank You Lord Jesus for Your salvation given to all who will believe and trust in You.

Bless our nation and especially those who have the authority to make great changes in our economy, society, and general way of life in Christ name.

Shine Your Face on us and bless us with strength and spiritual fortitude to go forth and "bringing in the sheaves..." for Your Praise and Honor. Help us to be on our knees like Daniel and pray diligently for Your will. To be like Paul and declare the "unknown" God to the lost and confused.

May we be as the "Berean's" and search the Scriptures to make sure it was so.

Love to the brethren and all who are on this platform.

    Hi ELB!

So many thoughts are going through my head! :)

I'll just say that, i.e., when Paul was taken up to the third heaven, he saw things not lawful to discuss. If all was 'Spirit' as you say - he would have not seen things that were wonderful. Isaiah saw the Seraphim, and described them precisely; that means they have substance.

Our bodies, now, are the temple of the Holy Spirit. If we defile THAT by willful, gross sin, we do place ourselves under God's displeasure and chastisement.

As for Mark 9, of course no Christian plucks out their eyes or chops off their hands! Jesus was indicating how strict we need to be in order to escape damnation! I can tell you ELB, much to my sorrow, there was a time years ago in my Christian life, where I was not as 'strict' as I needed to be. Thanks be to God, in His mercy, He schooled me on this, and I MUST, by mortifying every member in my body, be as one who 'plucks out their eye", i.e., like Pauli, 'beat my body under" rather than to sin with my eyes! We cannot think that Paul LITERALLLY 'beat his body under', i.e, 'gave himself a black eye', as the words are in the Greek. NO! He was talking about putting down flesh and walking in God's Spirit by walking in God's Word.

When Jesus rose, He ate, He drank, He inivited Thomas to touch Him and see that He was not a ghost - but had substance! Jesus ate again with the disciples on the road to Emmaus.

I know that I know that I have been born again from above; my Father has revealed His Son to me, and in me, and has put eternity in my heart. I can say Job's words with faith:

For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

26And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

27Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

    Hasten the day, Lord!

    Grace in abundance, ELB!
