i have adapted a slightly different version of this Perfect chapter about our Christian attitude. As you know, modern translations use the word "love" for King James' "charity." i now use the word "empathy," for these two reasons: 1. "love" has many different meanings (altho we know in this chapter it means God's pure & perfect love); 2. unlike the word "love" however, "empathy" has the same number of syllables as "charity," and has only one meaning (the Compassion we should feel when we put ourself in another's place); this is also clearer, because the 3rd verse (And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor...) is our definition of "charity" today, so King James' language reads [though I practice charity...and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing]. But i love King James' language, so i keep the rest of the chapter exactly as it is. This is not opposed to doctrine, because we are taught that God came to mankind as Jesus, not only to save mankind, but to experience life & suffering as a man; in other words, so that God could better empathize with us. As He loves us, we are commanded to love others, every minute of every day.
We were set for a divorce after 25 years. We celebrated our 61st wedding anniversary. God has restored the years that the cankerworm has eaten. God is faithful.
I'm uplifting my daughter who has two teenage girls who were raised in Bible believing homes and are rebellious. I told my daughter to not give up, trust in the Lord, He is allowing things to happen so that they come to true repentance and knowledge of the Truth. God will restore what the cankerworm has eaten.. AMEN
