Ecclesiaticus 32: 1-4, Speaks of a feast that is tacking place. Since you are the master of the feast, don't lift yourself over others. Be as calmly as everyone else for all know who you are and respect will follow you. but don't make others feel belittled. Notice it says take diligent care of the people by sitting down as the rest. When it becomes your time to speak , do so with sound judgement (wisdom), speak not long when there are musicians present, because it is a time to eat, drink, dance, and be merry. The wine is to lift the spirit of laughter, if not over consuming, therefore don't hinder the joy of the feast with your long speech. The feast is not the place for Preaching or a Lecture of learning. If it were wine wouldn't be present. This is not speaking that a minister should not speak with musicians in the church. This is a feast. Preaching and Lecturing has it's place, if you don't believe me listen to ( Deliverance Is Available by Vicki Yohe ) and tell me this song has no place in the Church. However if you believe that music should not be played in your church, it is a sin to you.
I've read Ecclesiasticus 32:1-4 as political, practical today. Yes I think you could reference toward any meetings. It's always amazing to me how GOD's Word is teaching & moving hearts & our thoughts with practical useful information today even though written many ages before.
Hello . I'm thinking that the reason that no one has answered your question yet might be because not everyone reads Ecclesiasticus because it's part of the apocrypha . Not everyone reads the apocrypha , so you might have to wait a little while to get your answer but I'm sure someone will respond eventually .
Do you constantly read and continuously read the 66 that are? God preserved the Bible the 66 books and adding to that well Rev 22:18&19 The Apocrypha Books are on this site and it's in there, plus the 1611 King James Bible Introduction and the Standard King James Bible Introduction. These will explain why the translators choose the books they choose and why.
The 1611 version on this site does. Ecclesiasticus 1, - hopefully will link you to it directly. If that doesn't top of page 1611 will bring you to Table of Contents page, if you scroll down you should find it: far right, bottom columns.
I have looked Ecclesiasticus 32:4. In my King James bible I can find this chapter. I have the old and the new King James bible and I can not find this chapter. I also have the complete Jewish bible it not there. I also looked in my Spanish bible I can not find this chapter. I download bible from web and they don't have this chapter. Where can I find a bible with this book?
Michael, Ecclesiasticus is what is considered an Apocryphal Book, i.e. a book amongst some other books that were not considered to be included in the Canon of Scripture. These intertestamental books were not accepted by the Jews & those who compiled the Scriptures we have now left them out because they failed certain tests applied to them. However, some Bibles, e.g. the Catholic Edition have some of those books in them and you can view the books on this Website, under "More" at the head of this page.
Then notice it says Ecclesiasticus 32:7-18, is in context, also saying " do not sin by proud speech"
Doesn't that point to another scripture Ecclesiastes 9:10, Deuteronomy 8:18,
it's GOD that gives us abilities
Hopefully this is helpful
