The man in v. 12 is not Satan;The king called him "friend".Satan is not "friend". The man is someone who was not chosen; he did not have a wedding garment; the wedding is Christ and his church. The context of who the man is, is v.12,13, 14. V.14 For many are called, but few are chosen". God may call someone to righteousness, but then not chose them, they will be cast into outer darkness;hell.
