  • Grace on 2 Corinthians 1 - 13 years ago
JESUS LOVER OF MY SOUL, JESUS I WILL NEVER LET YOU GO

    Jesus, lover of my soul
Jesus, I will never let You go
You've taken me from the miry clay
Set my feet upon the rock and now I know

I love You, I need You
Though my world may fall, I'll never let You go
    My Saviour, my closest friend
I will worship You until the very end

I love You, I need You
Though my world may fall, I'll never let You go
    My Saviour, my closest friend
I will worship You until the very end.
I woke up this morning and remembered this song and thought it might encourage some people.
This is a heart-felt longing and testimony of one who truly appreciates the Love and saving Power of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
    Paul in his second epistle to the Corinthians tried to explain this abundant provision God has for every one who will run to him for refuge, and trust Him for deliverance. 2Corinthians 1: 3-5 ‘Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ’
God does not promise that life will be easy. No. Instead there is an assurance of His consolation and comfort when we find ourselves in such situations at any stage during our life’s journey. You need to be close in relationship to have the benefit. There is an image of expected experience which may come useful for some other purposes in life. When we trust in any thing outside God, It is like standing or walking in mud. You can imagine the struggle and fears and the mess, or, even danger. Compare it with standing on, or even running on a rock, just as John Wesley and the writer of this song is full of exuberant worship and praise for the way God had delivered him from trusting on any other but God.
The summary of it is that Christ is our REFUGE, HOPE & PLACE OF SECURITY.
‘God is our refuge and strength; and a very present help...’ ( Psalm 46:1).
Do you feel lonely, widowed, divorced, orphaned, threatened, neglected, abandoned, forsaken, rejected, or abused in any way? The same One who died on the cross for you, now says: ‘Come unto me all ye that labour, and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest’ ( Matthew 11:28).
1 Peter 5: 6 ‘Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
I pray Oh Lord, in Your infinite and abundant grace and mercy, meet at the point of their needs, all who are cut up in any of lives unpleasant experiences, and all who despair or are confused. May they find HOPE in Your promises, Your steadfast love and faithfulness in Jesus’ Mighty Name…Amen.

    God bless.
