I wondered why the Spirit fell before baptism in this case. I like the thought that Peter needed to see it to confirm that these had been recieved into the fold of Christ. It seems that Jesus had the fullness of the Spirit before baptism, otherwise how could he compete in discussions with the temple leaders at age 12. Some things He did, He did for examples for us, like baptism. The Spirit decended upon Him to signify the start to His public ministry. We get bptised to rid ourselves of the old nature Rom 6 '6 but Jesus didnt have yhe old nature.
