"For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:/But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty."( (1 cor.1.26-17) God confounded the people who were in their conceit. Fools as we are God shined into our hearts. It is this glory of knowledge that shall grow from day to day. (2 cor.3.18;4.6);
Church history from the time of its inception has merely shed some outward vestiges of the gospel which is neither here nor there. Instrad of the foundation stone God has laid what the church has become as perverse as the people 'as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.' Churches as we see in their own conceits shall suffer the same fate. " and they left off to build the city."
