Not only is my friend's service to myself currently living across the state of PA to make a long drive out of state to assist going above and beyond; but I am realizing once again after talking to a brother in my church about visiting that this place can be a blessing to others beside myself; or even a survival location with the 2 or so acres attached and lack of zoning; etc. That was my original intent on getting this place.
My own situation has for the time being meant that I have been blessed financially as well as time wise basically living alone.
Rather than focusing on my own interests those in the Body of Christ need to be my primary focus. The same idea needs to be happening with my job which challenges many weaknesses in my life in a kitchen environment. I need to focus on how that will help me now as it has in our church kitchen but also with future volunteer opportunities.
Now I don't want to make this about me; but felt sharing what I am learning is important. I have much to learn in terms of service with the Body of Christ as I don't tend to do well on my own. My mechanical skills are well; let's just say I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed. I have found it helpful to glean what I can as I did with a difficult mother in law in the past living with me; and others who I can work with and learn skills. The same of course is a principle with others with different spiritual giftings. I am realizing my detailed analytical approach can be used wisely but also can be too much and not edifying.
Let's turn our attention back to the Rapture and our readiness. I can take what I've just said and apply it here; overkill on prophecy doesn't necessarily edify as we are meant to do; neither does glibly ignoring the signs on the wall that the end surely is near and sweeping it under the carpet. There is no guarantee we will live to see another day so we have to as Psalms 90:12 states we are to number our days.
