    Gen.1.2 "Darkness" (1 of 2)

    "For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven." (Ps.119.89)

    Jesus Christ as a sign is the glass we look at so we are changed, " But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."(2.Cor.3.18) How the Spirit has given a meaning say to a word as 'the face' cannot change. When Zechariah speaks of "Three shepherds also I cut off in one month; and my soul loathed them, and their soul also abhorred me,"they belong to darkness. It was upon the face of the deep. Thus it qualifies beyond the nation of Israel. We shall go from the specific to the universal sense.

    Who are they? They lord over the poor of the flock. "1. Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty:2. and they that sell them say, Blessed be the Lord; for I am rich: 3.and their own shepherds pity them not."(v.5). They covenanted with Judas Iscariot so the Spirit clearly instructs us who are these, "and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the Lord." The just shall live by faith and they 'waited upon me'.

    Now Jesus in his woe to ye in Mt.ch.23 refers to all the three. We shall compare athe Zechariah quote with the Jesus quote and apply to the present white washed sepulchres.

    They lord over the poor of the flock." For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers."

    Zech quote "1. Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty." "The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:/All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

    2."And they that sell them say, Blessed be the Lord; for I am rich:" "ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing;
