Hi Janice. I would say that you would need to abide by the rules of the study group that you're with. Personally, I wouldn't be studying with JWs because of our differences in doctrines & beliefs, or with anyone else that treats the Bible in a manner at variance to what I read in it. But if you're happy to learn with them, then follow their requirements.
