The first resurrection is the state of being spiritually alive. It is the opposite of the first death.
The first resurrection is when you are born again by God's miracle of the new birth which you can only get from God and not from your choice. (See John 1.11-14 "11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
The first death is when you are alive in body but dead in sin as we all are at birth. ( Ephesians 2.8-10.
The second resurrection is the life-giving change of being taken into heaven when you are resurrected by the Lord. The second death is the judgement and sentencing and incarceration in hell of all who have rejected Christ on earth..
