In response to Mishael comments on The Ten Commandments:
In Matt. 22:37-40 Jesus answers the Pharisees question to what is the greatest commandments. He sum the 1st through the 4th commandments up into one "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Then HE sum up the 5th through the 10th commandments in the 39 vs with Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. What Jesus did here, is He let them know that loving God is the most important thing but we can't God without loving our neighbor ( 1 John 4:20).

Amen I agree and love verse given. I love the following verse also.
1 John 4:21. And this commandment have we from him, That HE WHO LOVETH GOD LOVE HIS BROTHER ALSO.
I have always read this verse as tho it said, He who loveth God "SHOULD" love his brother also.
But "should" is absent,
It's saying you can't do one without the other!!
HE WHO LOVETH GOD LOVE HIS BROTHER ALSO.
God bless.
