I see many brothers on here that like to bless everyone.

Did you know that when you bid God speed to some one in error you are guilty of the same sin ?

If you are totally in the same understanding I can except your brother hood as real , have you been going to the same church many years or is it just loose talk ?

    Unknown by many,

You must be referring to 1st John Chapter one where it says in Verse 10, " If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

That last phrase, neither bid him God speed, means do not speak greetings. Receive him not into your house, neither speak greetings to him. Now that's pretty harsh!

But we have to realize that the church met in homes. But especially this elect lady, she was hospitable towards traveling teachers and preachers.

She had to find out what their doctrine was. If they did not hold to the doctrine of Jesus Christ, as taught by Christ and the apostles, she was not to let them into her home.

You might say that sounds like keeping the truth, but it doesn't sound like love. But you see that's John's point. This is divine love.

We as believers, we compromise with the truth for the sake of love. But that's not divine love.

The reason is given to us in Verse 11:

"For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds."

John is saying that truth and love go hand in hand. You cannot compromise with the truth and say "Well, we don't agree on the truth, but we'll just love one another!"

Remember what John said at the beginning, I love my children who walk in truth. They are inseparable. God's divine love only loves in the truth, period!

We have to ask ourselves, is it really love if I compromise with the truth so that that person doesn't get offended in the truth of Christ?

We're supposed to represent the truth of Christ, and His love.

    Amen Jesse!

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

    John 14:3-6.
