I thought that verse 2 was referring to a man that, went to heaven, interacted with God then was brought back. My question is was he dead or not which Paul not knowing whether he was in or out of his body would seem to indicate.
The person taken up was Paul, he experienced a vision or supernatural out of body experience 14 years previous. He did not know how to put it into words or would not speak about it. We know Paul had an eye condition which may be the thorn in the flesh he mentions and this may have happened on the road to Damascus.
