Abraham came from Ur of the Chaldees, which were the descendants of Arphachshad, of the sons of Shem, primarily inhabiting Mesopotamia, the Euphrates Valley, and Persia; until Abraham migrated west toward the Mediteranean. The sons of Ham populated Africa, and the sons of Japheth spread over all Europe, Asia, Oceana, and the Americas.
