Nephilim. This is made up from evil people and their own fantasy. Read and believe in God and his written word. And the truth will set you free.

    Exodus 13:17

    Numbers 13:1-33, Numbers 14:1-45

These are scriptures relative to why the trip to the promised land took so long.

    Waline A Anthony,

In Genesis 6:4 it talks about the giants, "in those days; and also, after that", We see in those days and also after that we have giants (Nephilim). We see when Israel went into the promised land God gave them a command Deuteronomy 20:16-18. The word giant is Nephilim, which is also in Numbers 13:33, giants after the flood.

The question this raises is, who are the Nephilim and how did they survive the flood? Were these more fallen angels that created more giants? If the Nephilim were indeed half-human/half-angelic then it may explain the many ancient religious views after Babel with demi-gods (half man half god), but we do not find it clearly in scripture.

Also, in the Old Testament, there is the Rephaim (or Rephaites), and the context describes them as giants. The name of these people means "terrible ones" also, refers to departed spirits whose dwelling place was the abyss.

Here are some scriptures that may help your study, Joshua 12:4 2 Samuel 21:16 Also read Joshua 13, 15, 17, 18, 2 Samuel 21 and 1 Chronicles 20.

We do find giants of considerable size. Is there any scripture that tells us where these giants came from? There were not just one or two, but there were many. The descriptions of these giants appear much larger than 8-9 feet tall, a small number of people today.

    Numbers 13:33 Deuteronomy 2:19-21 Deuteronomy 20:17 Amos 2:9

Many struggles with there being giants but all over the world history records similarities of myths of giants, were they real? Whatever the case, there is the biblical evidence, plus written accounts outside of the Bible, that giants did exist.

Are the Nephilim and Rephaim the offspring of angels and human women that became demons and evil spirits after the flood that we see in the Bible? In the Bible there are angels which kept not their first estate, but left their habitation and are locked in chains of darkness until judgment.

Study for your conscience may this help, God bless.

There are two primary views on the identity of the sons of God and daughters of men. They were godly descendants of Seth intermarrying with wicked descendants of Cain. The major support for this interpretation is Genesis chapter 4 describes the ungodly generations of Cain, and 5 is the godly Seth line and the righteous line of Seth.

Cain and Seth are both descendants of Adam and Eve so if the descendants of Cain's daughters were fair, so the daughters of Seth would also be fair so, godly vs ungodly would have to be the difference. Nowhere in scripture are the descendants of Seth called "the sons of God", but more as an adoption, "shall be my son" as Solomon and us today, who receive Jesus and are led by the Spirit of God are the sons/ daughters of God. ( 1 Chronicles 17:13) ( 2 Corinthians 6:18)

The other view is angels who left their first estate and mated with women. Angels are called sons of God in Job, ( Job 1:6) ( Job 2:1) ( Job 38:7). Some say angels can not mate because of what Jesus said in ( Matthew 22:29-30). But all through scripture angels take on human form, they eat and drink and if they left their first estate it is possible. Scripture does not give a lot about this; we have 1656 years from Adam to the flood in only 7 chapters of Genesis.

Scripture tells us there are devils, demons, and fallen angels but these angels are different they are locked in chains of darkness in the bottomless pit until judgment. ( 2 Peter 2:4) ( Jude 1: 6). The bottomless pit comes up in Revelation, another study.

Also mentioned are giants/ Nephilim/ Rephaim "in those days; and also after that", before and after the flood. Whether these were offspring of angels' scripture does not tell us. The description in scripture is clear these are not just tall people. ( 2 Samuel 21:16) ( Joshua 12:4) ( Numbers 13:33) ( Deuteronomy 20:17) ( Deuteronomy 2:19-21) ( Amos 2:9).

This is just a small amount of information, maybe it will get you started in your study.

Hi Skip ,ive always thought that in this instance the rock is simon peters confession 'thou art the Christ ,the Son of the living God ' .

    Osagie,

"And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Mat 16:17-18

Simon had just declared his belief that Jesus was "The Christ, the Son of the living God."

Jesus replied to him him saying, "That thou art Peter [Petras, a stone], and upon this rock [Petra, a rock] I will build my church."

Peter was named Simon, son of Jona. Jesus was making a play on the word Petra by giving him a nickname. Peter is a little rock. Jesus is a Foundation ROCK. The church is built on Jesus.

Later "Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The STONE which the builders rejected, the same is become the HEAD of the CORNER: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?" Mat 21:42

After Jesus ascended, Peter asserted, "Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a CHIEF CORNER STONE, elect, precious: and he that believeth on Him shall not be confounded." 1Pe 2:6

    Numbers 13

31But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.

32 And they brought up an EVIL REPORT of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.

33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

They got in trouble for bringing an evil and Negative Report. They did not see God as their Leader or Protector in Battle.

The same thing happens when a doctor brings us an evil report. You can lay back and die or you can rise up in the Strength of God and fire out some scripture on healing,

Favor of God; Psalm 23. Rest in Gods love and care for you.

    Adam

    Page 2

Scripture concerning other "flesh," accounting for a male and female representative of each race to come aboard the Ark can be verified through Scripture. This can absolutely account for the other races of people on the earth after the flood of Noah's time, look at ( Genesis 6:17, 6:19, 7:15, 16, etc.).

The Strong's definition of "Gentile" is a "FOREIGN" nation from the nation of Israel. If there is no foreign nation to Israel because we are all from Adam, then what FOREIGN lands are the children of Noah proceeding into in Genesis 10:5?

"By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations."

Who are the "Gentiles"? How are the Gentiles a product of Adam if the Gentiles are FOREIGN to Adam? It can't be both ways.

The information concerning the "giants" being on the earth after the flood is also verified by Scripture in Genesis 6:4, "and also after that," also look at Numbers 13:33, Deuteronomy 3:11. If the "Sons of God" mentioned in Genesis 6:2, 4, are not fallen angels, then who do "giants" come from? Humans' mating with humans does not produce a giant. Neither does a change in one's geographical location, nor a confusion of language, will change the ethnicity of a particular race.

If God said that "ALL FLESH" ( Genesis 6:17) would be destroyed that breathed the breath of life, how did the giants survive? Answer- because He told us they survived in Genesis 6:4. The great whales and sea creatures that breathe air survived, but we are not told that. We are told what we need to know. God uses both literal and figurative language, and it is our job to figure it all out. What we do know is that the word of God is the Truth.

How do we still have other races after the flood? The answer is because He has told us that throughout all of Scripture. God said that these nations of the earth would be against the nation of Israel for Israel's correction ( Isaiah 10:5), and that these nations would also be blessed at the end ( Isaiah 19:25).

Gina is absolutely correct read your Bibles people for yourself. Genesis 6:1-4, book of Joshua ect. most churches are giving you a super watered down version of the truth. There are no aliens, its the Fallen Angels just like the Bible is telling us about, I have read the Bible cover to cover and the old testament was always hard for me to understand certain things, all I can say is read 1 Enoch

Gina is correct, A Disciple. giants were the offspring of angels and earthly women, however as the giants were destroyed, there is no way the giants of this land were their descendants. i bring this down to the fact that the evil reports were so tinted with fear that they overlooked this simple truth. we must never let fear get in the way of doing what Jehovah requires.

Gina; angels are spirits, and not flesh! Therefore they have no capacity for copulating with humans. Satanism fosters all such kinds of filthy fantasies, and seeks every means to seduce people away from the Truth. Jesus Christ has come in the flesh to give His life a ransom for many; to die for our sins, and save us from sin! Genesis 6 is about APOSTASY and the consequent ruin of the world by it!
  • Gina on Numbers 13 - 8 years ago
The men were leaders, they were strong, tired of the desert, wanting to possess their land. They were facing real giants, like David. The land devours itself means the giants eat everything. They are Nephilim, decendants of fallen angels and women.
Joshua and Caleb were strong believers that were counting on the power of Jahweh to give them victory because they were acting on His word.
  • A disciple on Numbers 13 - 9 years ago
BSP; How right you are! The Lord had Moses send certain chosen men to go search out the land; like the Lord has chosen certain men today, to search out the Promised Land in Christ, and bring word back to His people, to show them how they shall go in to take possession. And many do the same today, by bringing an evil report through unbelief, and cause the whole congregation to fear and lose heart!

I agree aliens are none other than the fallen angels who 's mission under satan is to deceive mankind. H2 a offshoot of the history channel has a show called ancient aliens that deny the existence of "G d " and imply that aliens were the creators of humankind in the ancient past and our DNA is mixed with thiers and that we are the descendants of the nephelim see Genesis chapter 6 and numbers 13:31-36 I believe that those who do not accept Jesus as their Lord and savior might be descendents of the nephelim but those who accept Christ must have descended through Noahs bloodline. God found Noah righteous in his generation. His bloodline was not tainted. There is something very special about human blood that the adversary covets.
