The Ezekiel reference is future. "It's during the Millennium " Ezekiel is seeing a vision as Ezekiel 40:1-2 says.

But let's set that aside and be direct with one another. Your aim is to fight anyone who claims Israel exist. Atleast that's what your original post seems to say. I've sent you several verses where God says his promises depends himself and his honor as a father to them and not their obedience. God is not a liar and he doesn't make promises that he don't see through and when he promised to Abraham he promised by himself. Hebrews 6:13-18.

LISTEN TO THE LORD ASSURANCE TO THEIR EXISTENCE.

VERSE 37 GIVES ASSURANCE IN A WAY THAT IT CONTRADICT YOU DIRECTLY.

Jeremiah 31:37. Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel FOR ALL THAT THEY HAVE DONE, saith the LORD.

GOD SAYS IF YOU CAN MEASURE HEAVEN AND THE FOUNDATIONS OF THE EARTH SEARCHED OUT BENEATH HE WILL CUT OUT THE SEED OF ISRAEL FOR ALL THE WRONG THEY HAVE DONE!!!

Part 3.

In Acts 15 the Disciples have a counsel on whether the Gentiles should be circumcised and keep the law, then Peter stands up to address the matter. Acts 15:7-11. Here you have the apostle Peter "A Jew" saying in verse 11, we Jews shall be saved in the same manner as the Gentiles! (By faith) "He's declaring "we jews have to come to the Lord by a new covenant".

This is the new birth spoken by Jesus in John 3:5 when speaking to Nicodemus. This is that which is spoken in

Jeremiah 31:31-34.

So here we have a new birth that provides a new nature that is generated by the Holyspirit. You see aspects of this in

Romans 6:1-23. Also, this is what is meant in John 4:21-24.

Here we have the quickening spirit by the second Adam that gives life under a new covenant where the old covenant brought death to the fleshly descendants of the first Adam. 1 Corinthians 15:45-50. and 2 Corinthians 5:1-6.

Ephesians 2:1-5 sums it up.

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins.

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

"AGAIN We're not talking about "Justification" we're talking about sanctification. Romans 5:1-21 handles justification.

We are Justified and Sanctified by the blood of Christ and given a new nature under a new covenant that bares fruit by the power of the Holyspirit.

There appear to be multiple layers to this story. The "waiting to be delivered" as stated in the other comment could be the birth pangs so to speak of the nation of Israel during the Tribulation. Of course there was a literal persecution during the time of Christ where the leader attempted to wipe out all children two years and under ( Jeremiah 31:15; and Matthew 2). The manchild being dtaken to heaven could represent Christ; but also the raptured church according to some theories. The "remnant of her seed" ( Rev. 12:17) could be the rest of the believers in Israel; and perhaps others during the Tribulation who are preserved physically.

Ultimately; even with most dying on earth a remnant survive in hiding during the Tribulation to make it into the Millennium dispensation. In all these cases the dragon aka Satan is working behind the scenes attempting to wipe out the physical seed of Israel; totally destroy their land and heritage and to usurp authority and worship to himself. In one sense; we are all part of the Body of Christ; or ijn some sense Godly offspring originating from Christ who is our head ( Ephesians 1).

God doesn't need possessions as we understand it, 'having or owning things' that are necessary for our survival or happiness. In Psalm 50:10, God says: "For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills." God owns all things He has created, even the special called-out people (first Israel, then those who've come to faith in Christ) & also that special city Jerusalem (Zion). Psalm 87:2-3 says, "The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob. Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God." According to this verse, Zion is synonymous with City of God, and it is a place that God loves. Zion is Jerusalem.



Zion is first mentioned in 2 Samuel 5:7. Zion was originally an ancient Jebusite fortress in the city of Jerusalem. After David's conquest of the fortress, Jerusalem became a possession of Israel. The royal palace was built there, and Zion/Jerusalem became the seat of power in Israel's kingdom. When Solomon built the temple in Jerusalem, the meaning of Zion included the temple area ( Psalm 2:6; Psalm 48:2,11,12; Psalm 132:13). Therefore, the prophecy of Jeremiah 31:6, "Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the LORD our God."

Zion is also used in a spiritual sense in Scripture. In the Old Testament, Zion refers figuratively to Israel as the people of God ( Isaiah 60:14). In the New Testament, Zion refers to God's spiritual kingdom: Hebrews 12:22. Peter, quoting Isaiah 28:16, refers to Christ as the Cornerstone of Zion ( 1 Peter 2:6).

Mount Zion, as a geographical area, is now the focus of much dispute (mainly between Jews & Muslims). The Bible is clear that one day Zion will be the sole possession of the Lord Jesus, and Zion, both the nation and the city, will be restored. ( Isaiah 52:1; Isaiah 60:14). When Jesus returns to Earth, His rule will be from Jerusalem ( Zechariah 14:1-4; Luke 1:32,33). I hope you can see why Zion is so important & especially significant in God's Eyes as a special City of God (on Earth).

Well Alex, lets take it from the begining.

1. You qouted Jeremiah 31:34.

"They shall no more teach their brothers or their neighbors know the LORD...They shall ALL KNOW ME FROM THE LEAST TO THE GREATEST..."

But does that literally mean that there is no need to be tought anything about Jesus because God's Spirit will do that Himself? Is that literal? Have we so far, for 2 th. years, seen something like that? Have you met any person, any church, that can claim that God tought him/them the Gospel personally? I haven't heard or read anything like that. As far something like that hasn't existed so far, it makes me believe that the above scripture must be interpeted in a different way.

2. Angels do not evangelize people. We don't see that anywhere in the NT. Remember the angel that was sent to Cornelious? He pointed out apostle Peter to him, he himself didn't say or teach anything about salvation. You are right about the angel in Revelation, but my belief is that he was send to evangelize people because after the rapture of the church just before the appearance of antichrist there will be no church to speak to people, and hence an angel will be sent together with the 2 prophets to do this task.

3. The New Covenant was made by God actually. But in any case that we have a covenant or a testament both sides involved must sign or accept it so it becomes valid. If either side do not accept it never becomes valid. God will never step back. So it is in man's hand to accept it or reject it. Some accept it and some, the most, reject it. If one rejects the salvation offered by God, will God eventually force him in Heaven? Sorry but I don't think so. If that was the case why do we bother to evangelize people? Stay home, God will do that. Why live a pure life and restrict ourselfs from the pleasures of sin, we will be saved anyway. Why the early christians threw themselves to the lions and fires and suffer so many persecutions if saved anyway?

The emphasis is on Gods possession in his people.

John 10:1.

The first 12 verses is rectrospect 13 through 28 is judgement, redemption and restoration.

Here we see where God says he created Israel, he also redeemed Israel and he will restore them! This section of scripture proves God is not done with Israel as some the Church has replaced Israel in receiving the promises given in the Old Testament or the promises given to Israel is actually to the church and not Israel.

Look at these verses! Isaiah 43:24-25.

24) "Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities."

25) I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins." )

Verse 25 says a lot! God stake his Great name on the restoration of Israel!

That restoration and redemption doesn't depend on Israels faithfulness

Parallel these verses with Isaiah 43 and you will also discover the father and the son in the God head.

Amen. I think it's a great idea to keep our Governing nation in prayer, and pray they let God govern their hearts!

When Israel did right by the Lord he gave them rest and the spirit of the lord rested on the leaders! Numbers 11:25-29.

As a nation we've put together great writings on paper and we Identfied ourselves by these writings but we never accomplished what we have in writing. Sort of reminds you of Israel doesn't it? Actually Israel didn't just have the law written on skin, they had the Lord in their midst. But his laws wasn't written on there hearts! And this is the only geographical nation/Country that has been set apart by the Lord.

That ought to humble every other nation! God has raised up nations in the past to do his will and then judge that nation!

Habakkuk 1:5-6.

Jeremiah 25:11-12.

God used Assyria and Babylon to chastise Israel and turn the rod on them.

God raises up great kings to do his will!

Isaiah 45:1.

Ezekiel 29:18-20.

Pride goeth before destruction and an haulty spirit before a fall.

All these nations fell! Now Let's look at Israel. Ezekiel 16:48-50. Notice verses 49 and 50? You noticed God called sodom Israels sister! When God brought Israel out of Egypt God called them his son. He was a father and a husband to them. But they turned from God so at this point he's telling them they have the same father as Sodom, and we know who that is!

"He's not governing there heart" but there will come a time he will. Jeremiah 31:31-34. Noticed verse 33? He will put his law in their inward parts!

Looking at Israel and the way the Lord raised up nations and later judged them should humble us!

There will come a time when his nation will be taken out of the world and he will deal with all the worlds nations.

Joel 3:2.

So let's pray the lost people of ALL nations humble themselves and get on a tract they have NEVER been on.

Hello again Dr. Lee. I think I might have understood the difference between the Old Covenant & the Old Testament. You wrote: "One huge difference between the Old Testament and the old covenant is that Moses wrote the Old Testament by hand, while God wrote with his finger the old covenant." The Old (Mosaic) Covenant being the Ten Commandments (which I understand & agree to), & the Old Testament being the Pentateuch (?) If this is the case, have those who divided the testaments to what we have now, erred, by placing the Pentateuch, the Prophets & the Writings under the nomenclature of the Old Testament? If so, then this is misleading.

Now when we consider the New Testament, you've written that the "New Testament has 7 categories." This to me seems like the New Testament must include all the Books from Matthew to Revelation as those categories you've detailed can be seen in most, if not all, of those books.

Then to the New Covenant. It "only has two great commandments". Can we not actually place these Covenantal Laws of both the Old & New (i.e. the Ten Commandments & the love God & neighbour commandment) under the actual Covenants made/given that command men to follow after? I tend to look at a Covenant as just that: a verbal declaration/pledge by one party to another. Therefore I see that the Mosaic (Old) Covenant (e.g. Deuteronomy 11:1-32) & the New Covenant (found variously in Jeremiah 31:31-34; Matthew 26:28; Hebrews 9:15; Romans 11:26,27), as the pledge, with the commandments (including the dictates of the Spirit in the believer), being our response to those Covenants. If we, post-Cross, fail to apprehend this & fail to earnestly seek to obey the Spirit, one could rightly question of what sort our salvation is & whether the promise of the Covenant was ever applied to our hearts. Hi Rick; by your response you have led me to believe you think as Christians we should practice the Ten Commandments in stone, this of course would be bondage, as Christians are now commanded to obey the Ten Commandments in the heart according to Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Hebrews 8:6-13 This old law of God had an expiry date according to the Lord Jesus who taught it would expire as soon as he fulfilled it. Matthew 5:18 The question should be asked, when did he fulfill it? The answer is then given in Luke 16:16 by the time of John the Baptist, as it would expire at that time. Today the Ten Commandments in stone is dead. Romans 7:4 and 7:6-7 We are now commanded to keep the new covenant which is the Ten Commandments written in the heart where there is no Sabbath or generational curses.

Correction to my post: Pentecost occurs in the Summer. The Fall Feast should begin with the Day of Blowing the Trumpet.

This might explain why in Matthew 4 Christ was not tempted any day earlier than the 40 days and 40 nights because God is in control of all things. If Christ had been tempted earlier it would not clearly point to The Day of Atonement as a likely Day for the Return of Jesus Christ with Him defeating all of the evil of this world by obeying God's Words.

Joel 2 describes the blowing of Trumpets on the Day that Christ returns on His Second Coming.

Another ancient tradition is that Moses fasted for 40 days and 40 nights ( Exodus 34:28) before receiving God's Commandments at Mount Sinai. The tradition states Moses received the Commandments on the Day of Atonement. The blowing of trumpets in Exodus 19 and 20 is associated with at Mount Sinai at that time.

So Christ was fasting during the same period as Moses, and Christ also stood with the Statutes, Laws, and Commandments of God on The Day of Atonement.

Here are some possible ways the 7 Feasts might point to the Life of Christ:

Spring Feasts (Fulfilled by Christ):

1.Passover, Exodus 12:1-14 (Death of Christ)

2.Feast of Unleavened Bread, Leviticus 23:6 (Christ was without any sin)

3.Feast of FirstFruits, 23:10; Leviticus 23:9-14 (Resurrection of Christ)

Fall Feasts (To Be Fulfilled by Christ in the future):

4.Feast of Weeks / Pentecost, Leviticus 23: 16-21 (Holy Spirit indwelling in believers of Christ)

5.Feast of Trumpets, Leviticus 23:23-25 [Rapture of believers of Christ; Second Exodus of 12 Tribes of Israel ( Jeremiah 31:7-11)]

Jeremiah 31:31. As it reads God is going to make a new covenant with the house of Israel.

Jeremiah 31:32 The Lord says this new covenant won't be like the old covenant that he gave their fathers, ( On Mount Sinai by Moses. )

Note: "A Mount that could not be touched"

Jeremiah 31:33-34. Tell us what the New covenant shall be. And how it will function!!

"I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts;

" Not on tables of Stone "

You see an example of this in

2 Corinthians 3:3.

This new covenant is NOT where they were bond to a law in which they could not keep because of the weakness of the flesh.

That Covenant and tabernacle was a shadow of the (TRUE) tabernacle.

( Hebrews 8:2. A minister of the sanctuary, and of the TRUE tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.)

THE ENERGY BEHIND THE DESIRE TO KEEPING THE LAW BEHIND THIS COVENANT WASN'T COMMANDMENT,

This covenant is set in motion and Moved by the Holyspirit. This is an inward action not an outward one.

This New Covenant is what the Old covenant/Law pointed to.

Note with both Covenants in view.

Galatians 4:23-28. But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.

Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.

For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.

Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

Hi Rick. I was citing the following Scriptures: Isaiah 66:5 and Jeremiah 5:22. In both verses, the narrative around them was to warn His people that God is a God Who cannot be taken lightly, ignored or despised. Israel & Judah were in every sense, God's chosen & beloved ( Jeremiah 31:1-3) - no matter whatever they did to displease Him, they remained his precious possession ( Ezekiel 44:28), but they would suffer under His Hand if they disobeyed. Yet, they continued to do so even to despising the Messiah of God & crucifying Him.

While the natural branches of the olive tree were cut off so that those who call upon the Name of Jesus, might be engrafted in ( Romans 11:16-20), the engrafted ones (the adopted children of God), are in no more favourable position than what Israel enjoyed as being the 'natural branches of the tree'. We can indeed call Him 'Abba', come to Him anywhere, anytime, anyhow, & enjoy His Gracious Presence through His Spirit, but if we hold Him in awe & wonder, we also demonstrate that through our treatment of His Glory & Holiness & with the Word which He has given us.

My reference to all this was to how we ought to read, understand & share God's Word. This is not a history book or novel that we can gloss over & give our impressions based on personal beliefs & sentiments, but the Word of God that requires careful, prayerful, & spiritual handling, both for our own exercises & for others. Given we have such a Book & such an Holy God, can we give them any less reverence & fear than those to whom God gave a sampling of His Glory ( Exodus 3:4-6; Isaiah 6:1-5; Ezekiel 1:28; Revelation 15:4-8). Israel could only approach God through the ministry of God's High priest & they enjoyed His blessings. We approach the same God through our High Priest, the Lord Jesus Christ, providing us such an access. Yet, the God of Israel has never changed - His love is the same - our stance before Him & His Word must be the same: one of great seriousness & carefulness.

Hello Tony. Thank you for your further clarification; previously I wasn't clear as to how you were viewing these passages. If I may explain my understanding:

a. Jeremiah 31:34 & Micah 7:18-20. I believe we see these passages differently. In both passages, I see a new Covenant God made & now brings in for Israel. This is not the New Covenant in Christ's Blood which avails for all men, but another Covenant that is different from the Mosaic ( Jeremiah 31:31,32) (& by inference, the Davidic) - a Covenant which will be unconditional (v32); it will include a change in their hearts, fellowship with God, knowledge of God, & forgiveness of sins (vv33-34). In Truth, all this avails for them through the Messiah of God, Whom they rejected & crucified; & so they go the same way as the Gentiles who reject God's Offer of Salvation. Yet, there will be a day in the Millennium, when they will finally acknowledge the One "Whom they pierced" & God will confirm this Covenant made to them & their sins will be forgiven. And also with Micah 7:11-20: God will fulfil His Promises to Israel, to Abraham, & to the fathers of old (v20). These verses also speak of that special time of forgiveness & blessing to the House of Israel.

b. Revelation 20:10. This verse aligns with Revelation 19:19,20; that the beast & his false prophet were first cast into the Lake of Fire. And Revelation 20:10 shows that Satan also joins them there & their torment will be eternal. So, I don't understand, "Since the wicked are raised from their fiery grave, why do they need a second judgement?" Which 'raising' are you referring to? And which 'wicked'? But if you're referring to vv 11-15 (Great White Throne Judgement), the Books were opened & their names were not found therein - & those dead were raised to judgement, including the finality of death & hell, were all likewise consigned to that eternal flame.

So I sense that our interpretation of these passages may differ, which I'm happy to pursue.

On Jeremiah 31:34, I am referring to Micah 7:18-20 refers to the remnant of God, "Thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea." The wicked have no part nor have another opportunity for redemption. The "testing" is given by God for the redeemed sake. God's judgment is final. It is not a testing time for unbelievers, but for the saints to know why our loved ones are not with us.

The "stone" referred to in Mathew 21 was used for joining two walls together, you are correct. Also, I see Matthew 21:24 emphasizing the result of rejecting the stone that crushes them. This is the way I view the Greek Lithos, Strong NT 928 and NT 939 in both Matthew and Revelation 20:10. Since the wicked are raised from their fiery grave, why do they need a second judgement? Have they not been previously suffering under the flames of eternity, some for thousands of years?

This is not a testing time to see if the lost get another chance at salvation. When the Books are opened, there will be no doubt why the lost are lost. We will be able to read the facts for ourselves. I cannot understand Revelation 20:10 and the raising of the wicked for any other reason.

Thank you Tony. In reference to Revelation 20:10, the "torment" being used for 'testing', in your understanding, does this 'testing' continue eternally without any finality to their judgement? Or does the verse more fully speak of that eternal torment received is the result of them being found guilty & deserving of their punishment. I became confused when you also referred to Jeremiah 31:34: are you speaking of the saved whose sins are already forgiven by virtue of Christ's death, or for some type of redemption for the unsaved?

And then to the "touchstone" & the connection to the "cornerstone". Though the same Greek word for Stone is used, I see a different application, where Christ is seen not as the 'testing' stone but as the very stone that forms the joint for connecting the two walls together, & is being rejected as useless (as was the rejection of the lord of vineyard's son). And the chief priests & scribes correctly perceived "that he had spoken this parable against them".

And then when we come to Revelation 20:10, where the "devil is was cast into the Lake of Fire, where the beast & the false prophet already are", I don't understand this to be a testing time for unbelievers. Their judgement is seen in Revelation 20:11-13, when the Books are opened & according to their works, were deemed guilty & not found in the Book of Life. Their judgement & punishment are now eternal. Those who belong to Him, through His Son, have been eternally secured, & their only judgement is in 1 Corinthians 3:10-15, where rewards are given to those who have built their Christian lives well on that One Foundation & sadly with shamefacedness & loss to those who have dishonoured Him in their lives.

There's more to share, but I feel that I may not have fully comprehended your understanding, so will leave it for now.

CONTINUED ON REVELATION 20:10 . The righteous will witness false believers rejecting the testing of the Stone. The fire will witness that He has not made a mistake in judging the lost. If He could make a mistake about someone's salvation among the lost, the fire could have no effect on them, the fire cannot destroy the gold of redemption which is in Christ. I can understand the horror and grief as the redeem see that there is no possibility for loved ones to be saved. As terrible as this testing is, God has made clear that He judged correctly. Then He wipes away all tears from our eyes, and we leave behind all that we experienced in this world of sin, For God also wipes away our sins. Jeremiah 31:34

When God chooses not to remember something, it cannot exist anywhere. What a God!

This is what I was taught: that these islands are actually other continents bordered by water (seas or oceans). Presumably Gentile. No where near the Mideast regions.

The Sea of Galilee, the Jordan River, the Red Sea and Mediterranean Sea are mentioned a number of times in both the Old and New Testaments. Each the the three bodies of water serves as geographical boundary markers in Numbers 34:1-12.

Hi Roger. The prophet Jeremiah was also known as the 'weeping prophet' ( Jeremiah 9:1,10; Jeremiah 31:16,17) as he had an exceptionally tender heart towards his people. When we read Jeremiah chapter 9, we need to also look at chapter 8, as they are connected. The volume of their sins; sins of adultery, deceit, & idolatry which God would certainly punish & not overlook, fully gripped the prophet. His weeping ought to have alerted the people to the certainty of judgement for their follies, but they disregarded the warnings.

So his exclamation in Jeremiah 9:1: "Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!", is a picture of how he felt & the tears that would flow because of the impending slaying of his people by the Babylonian sword & then into captivity, away from their God-given land.

The Law was given only to Israel & coupled with sacrifices, were to point them to God's Mercy upon them. At Jesus' crucifixion, the Law which only brought condemnation & death was annulled, as Christ ushered in the New Covenant in His Blood. Hebrews 7:7-13, where the old has gone & the new has come in, where the Law is now written in their hearts & minds ( Jeremiah 31:31-34). And Paul takes this up in Romans 8:1-4: "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." The Decalogue could never give this ability & freedom to fully obey God in all respects.

Therefore, I don't believe that the apostles or the Church were instructed to obey the Ten Commandments, that which was given under the Old Covenant & only brought death. Under the New Covenant, the indwelling Spirit instructs us to all of God's requirements for us & enables us to be alert to them & keep them.

And finally to your other point, those who say they have faith & continue to "live in worldly sin" are fooling themselves with spurious faith - none with the Holy Spirit can live that way, bringing shame to our Lord. Blessings.

A fresh start for God's people. Now that the wicked have been removed, Judah will be rebuilt along with a new covenant. God in their hearts. They will learn to fear God again per their past fathers evil ways.
