Isaiah 1 is a reflection of the times we have entered into especially in the United States we have forsaken the God that has blessed this nation in the past because we obeyed him and now we have turned our back on God and went after false God's and left for the love of money. We have become rebellious like he said and refuse to hear him until something tragic happens. It sad that's the only time people now a days take the time to hear what thus saith the Lord until misfortune come. I pray that this nation will turn back their hearts and minds to God and allow him to rid this nation of it's impurities.

The mentioning of Sodom and Gommorah, also reminds me of the now times..if you noticed since the passing of bills all over the country for gay rights, that same behavior was extremely prevalent back then and both cities were destroyed. In addition, Bible prophecy states that people will be waxed cold...and boy are they! This country is in bad shape and a lot of that has to do with the expulsion of God in this country. People are really disobedient and moving God out of schools and other places, has caused havoc and it already is doing just that, this country is no longer protected but we as Christians, nothing will harm us..so we need to stay prayed up to intercede. God be with us

  • Isaac solomon on Matthew 24:12 - 10 years ago
mathew 24:12 is even a word of God happening everyd. Love of those that is waxing cold are both the non-christian, and wicked ungrateful christians. Anyone who is not straight-forward and open mind to God and man, his or her love will aways wax cold. Remember no one can see God ordinarily, that is why God said we should learn to do good in the book of isaiah 1:16-17.
  • HARY COLLINS on Isaiah 1 - 10 years ago
God is ever ready and willing to receive us back if we can make a sincere turn from our evil life style.I advice we do it now that we still have the opportunity because the next one second might be too late.

People are vain, people of color are being oppressed more than before, children are killin family, vanity is out of control, there is not love, people have turned away from GOD and the church and doing what pleases their flesh. Homosexuality is made legal to marry, and times are worst than ever before, but GOD is still in control, and he will get our attention. We have to began to PRAY and seek him NOW! Before destruction comes and we are consumed. I am a woman after GOD's own heart. Matt 6:33

I look at our churches today and I see much sacrifice of goods but little sacrifice of heart. God was not pleased with the bullocks and rams. Nor is he pleased with our cash or cars or whatever when he does not have our hearts. It is time that we as christians give God our heart and not simply lip service. We can walk a walk and talk a talk at church but our homes are riddled with the sins and weights of this world. Soft porn flows through almost every T.V., immodesty hangs in most closets just waiting to be worn. It is as if somhow we think that the filth we allow on the T.V. and the lack of morals we display in everyday living is somhow missed by God and he is ok with it. Obviously he was not fooled by the Israelites and he is not fooled by us.

It seems that Israel like the U.S. has grown so far from God that not only have they forsaken God. Not only do they not believe in Him, but they no longer consider Him to be a possibility nor his ways an option. I cannot help but look at our country and see how the masses are getting to this point and cannot help but think that a God who never changes will reap upon our nation the same punishment that he placed upon Israel for their sinfulness.

  • Joni G on Isaiah 1 - 11 years ago
Chip, America needs to get on her knees for sure. We need to pray more. Although Isaiah is talking to Judah and Jerusalem, verse 1 we need to take heed. We need to be pointing the way to Christ as the way to freedom. Only He has the way to eternal life.
  • NISHA313 on Romans 1:17 - 11 years ago
FOR JOHN 'S COMMENT: FAITH W O OBEDIENCE- FIRST AND FOREMOST, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE FAITH AND BELIEVE IN GOD. FOR WITHOUT FAITH YOU CAN 'T PLEASE HIM AT ALL, NO MATTER HOW MUCH AND MANY GOOD WORKS YOU DO.WHEN YOU ASK GOD FOR ANYTHING YOU MUST BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT HE CAN DO WHATEVER YOU ASK HIM TO, WITH NO DOUBTING AT ALL. IT IS GREATER FOR YOU TO BE NOT ONLY OBEDIENT BUT ALSO WILLING. HE SAY IF YOU BE WILLING AND OBEDIENT YOU WILL EAT THE GOOD OF THE LAND. W O BEING OBEDIENT THERE WILL BE CONSEQUENCES. BE BLESSED PLZ REFER TO- HEBREWS 11:6, ISAIAH 1:19-20.
  • Chio on Isaiah 1 - 11 years ago
Verse 7 makes me think of what America will be someday in the near future. We as Christians need to get on our knees and beg for foregivness and Gods grace and mercy

ISAIAH CHAPTER 1 1 15 15 10:00 PM In v16 The LORD God is still merciful unto them. As also written in ROMANS 3:23 6:23 2:7. If we walk unto the way of our Lord Jesus Christ we will attain the eternal life. Praise the LORD. a-MEN.
  • Reinarudo Watanabe on Isaiah 1 - 11 years ago
ISAIAH CHAPTER 1 1 14 15 10:17 PM In Verse 16 The LORD God is truely merciful, because even the people was gone away backward and rebelled against Him but still gave a chance. As HE saith 16 Wash you, make you clean put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes cease to do evil In ROMANS 3:23 saith For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God In ROMANS 6:23 For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. The same which the LORD God said to them And the same as now through Lord Jesus Christ we have an eternal life. As said in JOHN 3:16 and ROMANS 2:7. Praise the LORD, A-men.
  • David wabwire on Isaiah 1 - 11 years ago
Sin in the land brings destruction. Our God hates it.It spoils our relationship with our Father. He is a merciful father and always desires that we go back to Him through repentance for Him to restore us. If we continue disobeying, then His full wrath is unleashed to us.
  • Grace on Isaiah 1 - 11 years ago
I believe that God is speking to us telling us that if we turn from our bad waysand seek him he is willing to give us a second chance to do the right things in llife.he will bring about restoration.
  • Phyllis on Isaiah 1 - 11 years ago
According to my Bible, I do not get this that all are saved. Going to NT after Jesus, see Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God ". Vs. 18 is telling us that even though we have sinned, we can become cleansed.
