Lord - is a title very much like Mr and Master and Dr and Sir. These are Titles. Why is that the following Bible's have God's name in the verse and other Bible's omit The Almighty's name.
This in itself is absolutely wrong!
Omitting the Almighty God's name and replacing it with a Title is wrong in every single sense.
AKJ You shall not kill. ( Exodus 20:13)
ASV Thou shalt not kill.
BBE Do not put anyone to death without cause.
DRB Thou shalt not kill.
DBY Thou shalt not kill.
ERV Thou shalt do no murder.
WBS Thou shalt not kill.
"Kill thou not out of evil will,
Nor hate, nor render ill for ill;"
--(Martin Luther)
I am convinced that on my part I failed miserably and would like you to pray for me
I thank God for his divine leading me and show me the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Thank you for the wonderful work you're doing for the spread of the gospel
May God continue to bless and be with you always
Have a blessed new year 2021

Hello Rodney. I see that this matter is much on your heart & with anything that requires serious consideration, I find that if we have the basic understanding of it, then we can confidently proceed from there. But if we have disagreement at that 'basic' level, then whatever proceeds from there, will amplify our objections & take us to further divergent thoughts & conclusions. So, with the Sabbath Day, it's only proper to understand what is given to us in the Word & what God requires of us by His Command. Therefore, I will state what I believe on that subject & you can take issue with me in point form, so that the matter might be properly addressed. And by the way, I'm here on this Site just as you & others are, to share, discuss & learn more from God's Word. May the Lord help us & give us His Wisdom.
a. Genesis 2:2,3. On the seventh day, God rested from His Work & blessed that day & sanctified it. Was God exhausted & worn out from that demanding work of creation? The use of the word, Shabath, indicates that it was simply a cessation of work. And in the Genesis account, I'm not trying to decipher whether the days of creation were literal 24 hour days, or days denoting extended periods of time. The point was that for six 'creation' days God involved Himself in work & on the seventh He desisted from such work which doesn't imply any physical weariness.
b. Exodus 20:8-11. The first direct instruction given to the children of Israel concerning this day of rest, Shabath. The keeping of this day holy (set apart) as with the rite of circumcision, marked out this people as belonging to the Lord, that which no other nation was given or observed. All humans & animals in the company of God's people had to desist from any form of work or else punishment by death followed ( Exodus 31:12-17). This command (or, any other commands) & any requirement to observe them, were not given to any other people except to Israel.
In the Book of Ephesians, the Apostle Paul talks about the spiritual growth of Christians.
EPHESIANS 4:11-15
11 And he[Jesus]gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.
Did you notice in verse 15, Paul tells the Christians in Ephesus to ". . grow up into him in all things . . ."? Evidently, Paul didn't think that the Church at Ephesus had grown up yet. He also said in verse 13, "Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, UNTO A PERFECT MAN . . . ."
In The Amplified Bible, this phrase is translated, "that we might arrive at really mature manhood." In these verses, Paul is encouraging us to reach spiritual maturity. He is encouraging us to grow up spiritually.
Throughout the New Testament, we see a striking similarity between spiritual and physical development. In fact, there are three stages of spiritual development that correspond to physical development. They are: babyhood, childhood, and manhood.
Everything you've endured was to bring you to this day. How do I know that? I was brought that way too. I was the little gray duck in a family of swans.
Some day, even now, you'll be able to embrace the great work that God has been doing within your heart. Only you know the hollow feeling of not really belonging anywhere.
In the perfect time, God sent forth the Spirit of Adoption, into your life. His name is Jesus. He is your ABBA. Your Daddy.
Daddy means as close to his heart as you desire of him. Now write these 2 verses on the inside cover of your Bible.
Psalms 27:10 - When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
Psalms 68:6
God setteth the Solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
You're not a mistake. There is a plan in place for you. Let go of the past, and embrace your adoption and the future. Ask Him now to complete the work in your heart. Get still and listen for the Holy Spirits voice. One of peace; not fear and confusion.
I'm not speaking out of my flesh here. You are to have this Word now.
Mishael
I'm sorry to hear you were so badly mistreated. You deserved better and deserved to be loved.
I believe the Bible has provisions for getting out of toxic, abusive relationships, both with spouses and with family and friends. I have distanced myself from family at different times to reduce negativity. Even though I still love family members it doesn't mean I have to be around them. Some I do not go around because nothing positive comes from it.
This isn't an exact match to your situation, but at the end of 1 Corinthians 5:11 it says to not eat with (I interpret as associate with) people who claim to be believers but who are living in sin (with examples listed). It doesn't say ignore non-believers, but believers who are engaged in these sins. To me I think this supports leaving a toxic environment. Part of loving ourselves and taking care of ourselves I think will be making decisions to distance from certain temptations, certain people, certain negative situations. Hope this is helpful.
God bless...
Matthew 7:7-8
7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Keep asking him He will answer according to His will. His promises is yes and amen.
1 Thessalonian 5:17
17Pray without ceasing.
Never stop praying until you get what you want.
