The apostles could not deny what they had seen and witnessed being done by the power of GOD. Even us today we cannot deny what JESUS is doing in our times The sick are healed, people are saved through the same NAME OF JESUS CHRIST.
  • Jerry on Acts 5 - 7 years ago
these bold disciples, who just weeks before were cowering in a secret hideout because of their fear of getting arrested and murdered like the Christ, were now proclaiming the gospel, tells me their testimony was indeed real. Once the Holy Spirit came and filled them, they had no more fear, because they KNEW Jesus was God...awesome!!

Verse 37~There have always been those who rise up in revolt and gain a number of follower. Eventually these people pass away and their follower are scattered. The only real solution to the problems we see today is the coming of God's Kingdom.

Please stop it my Brothers and Sister's in Christ. The most important thing is JESUS CHRIST died on the cross for our sins. Now it's was a stalk they nail JESUS CHRIST to what is a stalk made of wood what is a tree made up with wood now it was shaped like a cross. JESUS CHRIST is coming soon we all need to REPENT of our sins. I do every day. Thank you JESUS CHRIST for savings me from those demons.
  • RayJay on Acts 5 - 8 years ago
Pretty Amazing! After all, they just watched the sever and brutal crucifixion of Jesus, and here they are preaching in his name among those same people. I’d say that’s another strong testimony, perhaps not often mentioned
  • Eutychus on Matthew 27 - 8 years ago
"Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children." verse 25. The people pronounced a breath-taking curse upon themselves.

And were reminded of it later, very strongly...

"Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us." Acts 5:28.

Acts 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? It's always good to give to the Lord, if not, the Lord can make you pay some way or another.
  • Bruce on Acts 5 - 8 years ago
The servant is not greater than his Lord. If they have Persecuted Me, they will also Persecute You;if they have kept My saying, they will keep yours also. John 15:20./ Persecution will come to a Born-again Believer when they Preach The Way of Salvation. In the Last Days there'll be rockers: Jude:18./Ye Shall be Hated of all---: He that shall endure unto The End,---Shall be Saved. Mark 13:13
  • BSP on Acts 5 - 8 years ago
Even though the apostles had been flogged and persecuted, verse 42 shows that they did not give up. This is a great example of endurance for us.

Acts 5:39 - I thank Jesus He could use Gamaliel. He wasn't saved, and neither was Cyrus, King of Persia, but God used him in the rebuilding of the Temple. What a merciful, Glorious God we serve. He doesn't use these people because they are 'good', i.e. living for Him); He uses them for His people's benefit. He uses them for His own Glory.
  • Irene123 on Acts 5 - 9 years ago
It was good to hear from you. Yes, our song leader loves the new songs, and very seldom uses the old ones. But, oh my! does he love the Lord! To get us 'going' in the song service, he almost preaches.' C'mon saints; lift Him up, praise him'! And that does it - every time. And as we sing the voices get stronger and stronger! The tears just run from my eyes; I love Him so. 'Amazing Grace' is sung.
  • Bruce on Acts 5 - 9 years ago
Irene: Amen! The power in The songs of Old. Lifting up Our Savior, there would be Testimony after Testimony. Sometimes that would be for the whole service. Oh what a Savior! The Church I was at,refuses to sing the old hymns. The Pastor said the new songs are just as good---? Just to hear, The Old,Old Story of Jesus and His Love.
  • Irene123 on Acts 5 - 9 years ago
Bruce - You just got to my heart; the old song, At the cross (yes, and did my Savior Bleed). 'At the cross, at the cross, where I first saw the light, and the burden of my sins rolled away; it was there by faith I received my sight, and now I'm happy all the day.'
And, "Have a Little talk With Jesus, tell Him all about your troubles, He will you when you cry, He will answer by and by."
  • Bruce on Acts 5 - 9 years ago
Jason: in the Greek it says stake or cross. The statement you're making came from a believer turned Atheists. Trying to destroy The Church. He to said he's a historian. Stake, plank, tree: makes no difference,He was lifted up,He paid for Our sins. What about yours? Only by The Blood of The Lamb is there Salvation! At The Cross,at The Cross when I first saw The Light. The Lord Died on a Cross for me!
  • Jason on Acts 5 - 9 years ago
Im an historian of the Bible to much of a surprise to most people Romans never used the cross beam for quite some time after Christ death so Jesus died on an upright stake/tree the Greek word stauros if you are a Christian this should make a huge difference to salvation you want to worship in truth
  • Irene123 on Acts 5 - 9 years ago
One doesn't show their love for Jesus God by wearing a piece of jewelry. I learned from a man yrs. ago when he told me the reason he, an atheist, wore this cross was because he wanted to be reminded - there was no God. It's your LIFESTYLE, not jewelry, that shows Jesus.
  • Irene123 on Acts 5 - 9 years ago
Did anyone know that the cross tree type of death was instituted by the Persians, and the Roman's adopted it? Does anyone care? It is an interesting sidelight, but as with 'arguing' about whether it was or wasn't this or that, none of it has anything to do with - salvation.
  • Landon on Romans 1 - 9 years ago
Jesus loves us! Just got through watching the Columbine shooting of the most precious true Christian little girl. She lived Jesus and touched millions of Souls for Jesus! • Kathy Newcomer on Acts 5 - 9 years ago
Margaret Mordi, The tree refers to wood. The cross is referred to as a tree because, in the OT, Deut. 21:23 says that to be hung on a tree is to be cursed of God. Jesus bore our curse for our sins when they hung him on the cross.
  • Margaret mordi on Acts 5 - 9 years ago
