God is perfect and he does not change therefore, whatever he does is perfect even when he called his son your husband home. As ST. James said God can 't be tempted with evil neither does he tempt any man. In Genesis repent means God was very sorry that he created man. In exodus God repented of evil means He simply changed his mind about the severity of the punishment to his people after Moses prayed for them.
