Good Morning Jesse It is interesting to me how we have been delivered through the operation of the faith of Jesus

Christ but the enemy has tricked even believers to be so to speak to have a sense of sin conscienceness

    when God says No.

In the New Man live in the spirit Romans 8 declare or make up your mind reckon your old man

dead in Gods eyes he does not exist. This is the freedom in Christ Jesus because what you think about is what you become.

If I think about making a wrong move or sin I'm afraid I'll go to hell there is no metal freedom to walk in newness of Life. That's like telling a child go play in a jungle gym but be careful or you'll die.

KIng David committed adultery and murder and God still called Him a

after His own Heart even back then God knows the flesh means nothing He was always looking at Davids heart. It doesn't

change with us, in our heart we know what we want to do but our natural mind fights our inner man. Lets live and love in

the freedom in Christ Jesus. God Bless

Good Morning Barbara Due to Adams disobedience to Gods only command in Genesis 3 Eden, he handed over all the

authority was given by God to serpent [it wasn't a literal snake figure of speech for his satans sly deception] that's why

in luke 4:6 the devil tells Jesus all the power and authority was handed to him that was done by Adam. In Romans

8:20-22 that was and is the effect all of creation suffers animals included satan put all of creation in a power struggle or

his confusion. The opposite side when we believe in Romans 10:9+10 all that authority that adam lost we are given back

to us in Ephesians 1:17-21 we again have that power and authority when we claim the name above all names

Jesus Christ. Thank God for what he did for us by Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Godf Bless.

Hello Barbara When Adam went against Gods Word the dominion and power that he had over creation was handed to the adversary or devil Luke 4:6 and that's when he became God of this world and all creation paid for that sin Romans

8:20-22. Even the weather conditions when Hurricanes and floods, drought etc. occur its the adversary affecting remember John 10:9 The thief cometh not [his only purpose] but to steal kill and destroy. Our God is the Author of life!

Dear Father, I return now to you, the Bible, and your Word. I pray for guidance as I listen for your voice. Let me return to what is most important-you. Help my attitude to change so that instead of focusing on others and events to meet my needs, I can turn to you and find the love, purpose, and direction I seek.

Lord you said in Joel 2:25, 32

"And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath Eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.

2:32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered:"

    1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, HE is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

[Ask the Lord to renew your faith as you read your Bible]

    Your first reading assignment:

Satan tried to destroy Job's faith and trust in God. He took his home, animals, all his kids died in a wicked storm ( Job 1) Jobs health hit rock bottom; his friends accused him:

In the last chapter, God gave him back ten times more than what he lost.

Grow your faith consuming scripture. Keep coming back here for fellowship; till you find a church that teaches Bible.

That's a very good question, Barbara. Maybe you'll get other thoughts expressed here, but I tend to think that even though animals haven't sinned, indeed they cannot sin, they can still be affected by the general corruption that has taken place all over the world. Why would some animals want to kill other animals & humans? I don't believe that in the beginning this was ever the norm. Why does the Earth suffer such horrendous storms, earthquakes & famines? Again, I think that all these have come about because of Satan's presence, both influencing man to sin & the many tragedies we see now. Another thought is, that it's possible that God always intended animals to age & die as they do not bear the Image of God not having the capacity to be ministered & moved by His Holy Spirit ( Ecclesiastes 3:21). But these are just my thoughts - others may have some more useful things to share.

Are you saying that sinners should be punished to satisfy your need for vengeance ? Or why should you be good if the only punishment bad people suffer is death ? Is being ressurected to spend eternity with your God and your saviour not enough of a reward for you ? Do you want to be able to look down into hell and watch people suffer eternal torture , many of whom will have never had the chance to know the Truth through no fault of their own ? Children ? Mentally handicapped or mentally ill people ? Will that make the sacrifices that you have made in your life in order to spend eternity with The God of All Creation and His Son your Redeemer worth it to you ? GOD IS LOVE , HE HATES NO ONE ,HE LOVES EVERY ONE , HE IS KIND AND MERCY FULL TO EVERY ONE . Do you think He wants to see the ignorant tortured for ever ? He would be able to see that , do you think that would give Him pleasure ,HE SAYS : THE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATH , He says that . There are millions of people who have lived and we're loved by their God and didn't know any thing about Him ,He didn't love them any less because of their ignorance . They should defo go to a place of torture and misery for ever ,is that what you think ? I'm very glad that God is not like us . Sorry if I sound aggressive , I don't mean to , amongst the things I know about God : He is not cruel He loves all of His creation He is never unfair or cold hearted or vicious and He takes no pleasure in our suffering .I'm not a J . W. in case you are wondering .

In Genesis God gave us Dominion and put us in charge over creation; but not humans.

I love animals too. Just like us, they get sick, old or injured and they die. Try to be happy for the time you had with your critters. Don't be afraid to love again. God is Love. It's in our likeness of Him to love others as best we can; even pets.

ROMANS 7 (the "I" chapter).count how many times Paul said "I". He was really stressing about the flesh

"23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

ROMANS 8:1 [ THE GOOD NEWS]

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

When Paul arrived at Romans 8:1 he discovered victory in and through, Jesus; by the indwelling Holy Spirit. Happiness through reverence is wonderful.

The JWs brought in their elders to talk to me two days later. We discussed the same matter with our Bibles opened. They also spoke of death as sin's penalty (as you have) & that no other eternal fiery judgement awaited the unrepentant. So I asked, 'if you're preaching a salvation that ultimately finds one in the everlasting Presence of God, are you then saying that death is the only punishment for the ungodly?' They affirmed that.

I then asked, 'But if we all die & some are raised incorruptible to reign with Christ & God, what then is the judgement for sin & Christ rejection?' 'Only death', they said. 'So does it makes any sense that an innocent Jesus, God's Son, should suffer an horrible death for us, the apostles should willingly lay down their lives for the love of Christ & the Gospel, & countless others have not denied their Saviour, many walking joyfully to the stake of fiery death, just so that the sinner's present & final judgement rests only in the grave?' Those men arose & left.

If it wasn't for the fact that Jesus was my sin-Bearer, bringing me into a new & right relationship with the Godhead, and that eternal suffering was my certain destiny, then I would not be a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ today - I would be quite satisfied to 'eat, drink & be merry', die a natural death without a Saviour, maybe raised up later for judgement & put to death again with no further consciousness in the grave. But when conviction came, I ran into the arms of a merciful Saviour in Heaven because I fled from the arms of a ruthless Satan awaiting his fiery destiny ( Revelation 20:10, 21:8). The Offence of the Cross is ceased if any other Gospel is preached that provides an easy road to indifferent sinners.

Thank you for those two sets of comments brother Earl. Briefly, in reference to those three verses from the OT, the thought that comes through from them (in our present subject), is that both David & Ezekiel spoke about "the lowest hell & the nether parts of the Earth". The grave or entombment of a body cannot support the meaning that these writers intended. 'Sheol' does have other meanings, but you have chosen the 'grave' as the consistent one (which I agree, is generally seen), whereas the 'nether parts of the Earth & lowest hell' clearly mean something deeper & more sinister than just the grave.

Leaving that aside, I'm back to my original story of the JW's visit to me, so I'll proceed without receiving an answer to my question. Firstly, the Gospel, which proclaims to all the results & benefits of Christ's Sacrifice, speaks to both the Father & to mankind.

God required it: for a Lamb must be slain to satisfy God, as 'payment by a life for a life'. Not only was His Anger appeased (= propitiation), but He could forgive us because His Son took upon Himself our sin & penalty securing our redemption & acceptance with the Father.

Man needed the Gospel: for there could be no other who could bear his sin, forgive us completely & present us faultless before the Father. So the repentant sinner was not only forgiven through Christ's Sacrifice but was also freed from the penalty that his sin rightfully deserved.

I understand that the reason we die is that we sinned. My question is then why do animals die when they do not sin?
  • GiGi again - In Reply on John 21 - 4 years ago
    Earl

people are not lost because they lack knowledge. (That is what gnostics teach). People are lost because sin makes them enemies of God, like we once were. When we hear the gospel of Jesus, the Word is effective in giving us fait to believe. Some will accept this faith and others will reject it. Christ did die for all mankind, and His atonement was for all mankind, however, He did say that those who do not believe are condemned. He stated many times that hell is a place of punishment for those who are condemned for unbelief. I don't have the Scriptures handy, but perhaps that is something you can research on your own. I am heading off to bed. Have 10 yards of gravel arriving early in the morning and I have my work cut out for me raking it all out.

God's blessing to you. I understand that we will most likely not come to agreement on this. That is ok. We have both spoken our thoughts on this. I leave it in the hands of the Lord to sow us the truth in this matter. Good night.

I checked again and whoever moderates the browser removed it and referenced the correct website. I'm sorry if I caused any confusion. It wasn't meant to be an interpretation

My original was "What color is jasper and sardine stone". I shocked by the answer and I had to respond. Amazon fixed it.

Sister GiGI, According to scripture, all mankind IS DEAD (in trespasses), they have no life in them. Christ came and died to COVER the trespasses of ALL MANKIND. He was resurrected so ALL MANKIND could have his life.

All mankind HAS BEEN REDEEMED, and their life is HID with CHRIST.

Colossians 3:3 For ye (all mankind) are dead and your life is HID with Christ in God.

2 Corinthians 4:3 But if the gospel be HID, it is HID to them that are lost.

Mankind is SAVED, they can not lose their salvation, they can not go to hell, their SAVED.

Their lost because of lack of knowledge.

The gospel is bringing this knowledge to mankind.

God will cause them to repent, cause them to believe, cause them to have faith, cause them to love, ect., etc., because it his LIFE IN YOU. Of yourself you can do nothing.

1 John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life, and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. Man has no knowledge of this.

Philippians 2:13 For it is God (his life) that worketh in you both TO WILL and TO DO his good pleasure (Because it's HIS LIFE).

    Brother Jesse,

You stated, "If you don't receive salvation until final judgment, how can you say we can lose our salvation?" I should have said "expected salvation", my apologies, I believe we have an "expectation of salvation" after being Born Again.

I believe you seem to be saying you have guaranteed salvation now! Please correct me if I'm misinterpreting you on this. I said that when we are born again we must work out our salvation with fear and trembling as expressed by apostle Paul and by becoming obedient to God including following his commandments, while following Christ's examples for living a good productive Christian life.

It is my belief that we can lose "our expected salvation" come judgement day if Jesus makes this determination per his scripture. Please Reread: Revelation 22:12-14 Jesus will be the Judge regarding everyones salvation.

Does Jesus make the final call? I believe he does!

    God Bless.

Spence Thank you and I agree with you. Love is to be our aim in everything. That is why we discuss doctrine, (which I see as teachings of the apostles) in order that we can grow into the full measure of Christ (which would only include true doctrine lived out in love and right actions). Jude 3 says that we are to contend earnestly for the faith that was once an for all delivered to the saints. So, to do this, one needs to know the faith (teachings of the apostle) that was delivered to the churches during their lifetimes and preserved and taught by the bishops (pastors, overseers, leaders) the apostles appointed in the churches they planted. It is worth studying and defending in forums like this and elsewhere, not to be divisive or argumentative, but to present what one knows is correct teaching when ideas come up that do not conform to the teachings of the historic early Christian faith. We do not know everything that was taught in this time period, as not everything taught was preserved for us to refer to, but we do have enough to be able to speak about primary and essential concepts that are important for believers to know and not compromise on.

I am not saying that I have all of the answers, but I do go back and read what I can on topics from this time period so I can represent what was written for those times and for ours, as well. I firmly believe that the Lord will preserve His church through out time. I cannot tolerate any new revelations or interpretations that add to Scripture or contradicts it or do damage to the plain interpretation of Scriptures. When we get to heaven, we will all know in full, but Jude's warning tells us that it is important to address wat seems "off" on this site, as there are so many who read it. So, those of us who can and are willing will and should "wrestle" with each other at times in order for both to come to a better and clearer understanding of what God is communicating in His Word, always framing every conversation lovingly

    Bro Dan,

I'm a little confused here. You said "I believe that we can actually lose our salvation - because I believe we do not receive it until our final judgement."

If you don't receive salvation until final judgment, how can you say we can lose our salvation? How can you lose something you don't presently have?

You mention being born again? For me it means that I have been born of God's Spirit. My salvation is present tense, not something I receive after death and judgement.

You say that the problem lies where Paul says that if we are not fearful, we can slip back into our sinful worldly ways and lose our salvation. I'm assuming you are referring to Philippians 2:12 where Paul says to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling?

But Paul does not say anything about losing salvation. Why would Paul say to work out our own salvation if we're not saved now? If we're not saved now, then there's no salvation to work out!

I agree that we still have free will after being born again. We have free will to be disobedient to the Lord. But if we choose to be disobedient, He's going to deal with us. When Satan tempts you to be disobedient to the Lord, what are you going to do? Jonah exercised his free will when God told him to go to Ninevah. That didn't work out to well for Jonah.

Do you honestly believe that in Revelation 22:12-14 that "Jesus is telling us what He will be expecting from us to receive our salvation and enter into the City?" We should already know what He expects. Why would He tell us at that time what He expects from us? I already know what He expects from me. He expects obedience and faithfulness. These verses are referring to the time where we as believers will stand at the judgement seat of Christ. This judgement is not to determine salvation, but what reward/s we will receive. We're saved now. We as believers will all pass through the fire, and whatever is not of Christ will burn, but we ourselves will be saved ( 1 Corinthians 3:11-17).

    Amen Sister GiGi.

As we fellowship we come together to grow in all areas of the faith, At the moment we may not be able to agree on all things, But some day we will. But that doesn't mean we should yield to false doctrine or false teachers. In fact Revelation ch 2 and 3 we're being judged for suffering these false teachings to creep in.

Revelation 2:20. Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou "SUFFERETH" that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.

Revelation 2:14. But I have a few things against thee, BECAUSE THOU HAST THERE ( THEM ) that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.

Have you noticed The Lord is not condemning them for holding the doctrine of Balaam, He's condemning them for having those there that do!! And like so with jezebel.

Have you noticed when we're liberal we get alone with everyone and they get alone with us. But when truth and the straight and narrow way is presented then there comes the train wreck! You will see hate without a cause!!

Some blend in quite well, Some loose all self control and attack even the newcomers.

A believer that has been spiritualy born should bare fruit!! And the Spirit should CAUSE those who are in Christ to Love one another. Not join themselves to everyone who comes on the site and attack the faith! Agape/ Love for the brothern is something the flesh cannot do, .

Why is there so much fuss about doctrine but no fuss at all what sincere milk should cause you to do?

1 John 4:21. And this commandment have we from him, THAT HE WHO LOVETH GOD LOVE HIS BROTHER ALSO.

Have you noticed it doesn't say "SHOULD" Love his brother!! It's saying that Love given to Love God is "CAUSING" you to Love your brother also!!

    GOD BLESS.

I once lost my faith in god due to prolonged illness that resulted on me losing a good job and having to sale my home. Before I got well again my wife ( now exwife) bore me my first born. My son is a blessing, that I can better appreciate due to the storm.

What does the bible say about regaining faith?
  • GiGi again - In Reply on John 21 - 4 years ago
Hello again, Earl, I affirm what Paul preached in 1 Corinthians 15:1-8 as another example of what was considered the gospel taken to the world for salvation.

When speaking with someone about the gospel, I ask the person to tell me what they know about Jesus and salvation. And then I know what to tell them to urge them to be saved through Jesus.

I think it is good to ask others what they think is the gospel message. It drives us to Thank the Word to review what Paul and Peter said it was. Thank you for asking. You are welcome to relay to me what you say the gospel is, if you wish.
