I agree with Chris on Hebrews 6:4-9. Those in view here who turn away from Christ are those unregenerate who ultimately reject the word of God after having been enlightened by the Holy Spirit. These types of rebels are mentioned in Romans 1:18-20.

    18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

Thank you, Adam, for bringing this to the attention of readers. This error seems to come up again and again and, like you, I don't think we should not speak up when someone denies either the divinity or humanity of Jesus.

    DEAR Giannis,

it seems to me that you are implying that Jesus was resurrected in a spiritual body.

I think that Scriptures say that He was bodily resurrected and that in His appearances to His disciples, He was in His physical

body. He ate with them and He had Thomas put his hands in His wounds, He said (when the disciples thought He w as a spirit)

that a spirit does not have flesh and bones like He did ( Luke 24:39). Jesus ascended bodily to heaven and the angels told the

disciples that He would return in the same manner-bodily. my understanding is that Jesus remains in heaven in this physical

body, though glorified, and that in the resurrection, our physical bodies will be glorified like Jesus' but still physical bodies, since

our salvation involves our whole selves, spirit, mind, soul, and body.

We will always be human, even in heaven, as when God made man in the beginning, He made him as an embodied person.

Having a body is essential to our nature, so I do not think Jesus or humans will become a spiritual being. Conversely, those who

are judged to hell experience physical torment not just spiritual.

Perhaps you could explain your thoughts on this more for me to better understand.

Would you be able to share what you found there, if it's not too much to type (I used to have M. Henry's and he is wordy) ? I donated my copy to a young upcoming pastor because I'm an older woman and felt he needed it more than I did...

I have no idea what the forbidden fruit was but I do know Adam and Eve left it behind in the Garden when they were banned.

Luke 8:17 tells us that our secret sins will be revealed someday but it does not tell us that we will know every secret thing of God today. This is the verse that applies to the secret things of the Lord.

    Deuteronomy 29:29

The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

Sinners born in sin are physical sons of Adam, not physical sons of the devil. Sinners who reject the light of the Gospel revealed to them by the Holy Spirit are referred to as spiritual children of the devil, not physical children of the devil.

    1 John 3:12

Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.

    John 8:44

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Hi Richard , I have always thought that Vashti represents the old covenant and Esther the new , Esther Ch 1 V 9-22 and Ch 4 V 10-17 . Vashti broke the law of her culture and wasn't forgiven , in the same way that there was no forgiveness in the law given to Moses and Esther broke the law but was forgiven as we are forgiven in Christ . A bit like how Saul represents the law of Moses (no forgiveness) and David represents the new covenant of forgiveness in Christ . I hope I explained that ok .

    Hi Roman.

    Thanks for replying.

I've moved this conversation to a new thread since the other is a week old, And off topic.

    You stated:

"Spencer, Jesus said 2 commandments are most important, above all. If I follow the commandments, I will be OK at that. I don't need to dissect a butterfly to see how it flies. My impression is that everyone good and bad make it to the promised land, the tainted spirits we wear will be made whole so we haven't the capacity to sin. Even though it's dangled in our faces, the lake of fire is only for the 3 evil spirits, and no one else. Too much speculation and fuss is made over what will never be known and confirmed from the hear and now. Anything that occurs past the 7th trumpet is beyond our scope, beyond our comprehension, and out of this world. For all we know, our salvation comes from being thrown back into the universe as dust particles, into a new realm.

I don't think about my salvation, I don't worry about it, because it's not mine to entertain, but God's.

My personal salvation is rooted in selfishness that I could be good enough to make the grade.

I seek truth well before salvation. I was never a fanatic for life, so I look forward to death, the charade over. I wouldn't mind being blotted out as if I never existed, no record, that would be fine with me, too. I will have to wait and see what the Lord has in store for me.' End quote.

Roman if I had that mindset there wouldn't be any need to witness.

Roman you said you believe the lake of fire was only for the 3 evil spirits. here's their fate. Revelation 20:10.

But in this same chapter here's

mention of the lost suffering the same fate!! Revelation 20:15.

Here's a few of many scriptures I believe.

We've all sinned and come up short.

    Romans 3:22-25.

    The payment/Blood sacrfice.

    Matthew 20:28.

    Hebrews 9:26.

    Conclusion.

    John 6:28-29.

    John 3:16-17.

    Romans 10:9.

    1 Corinthians 15:1-4.

Thanks and God bless you Roman.

    Perhaps later.

    God bless.

    Hello Kenebrew.

I think Jesus wants to point out that it's not what i give to God but what i give from what is available to me. So if i have little and give it ito God is considered by God more than smd else who gives a lot more but its only a small fraction of what he has. This also works parabolic. So give Lord everything you have. What you can do for God? You think that just praying for other people is little and have nothing else to give, money or something else? Well give it to God, He will appreciate it very much.

    Dear Somefair

People have seen the human body of Jesus Christ, also His spiritual body after His Resurrection. But His divine body no man has ever seen It. Nor has ever seen Father and Holly Spirit. For if smd sees God he will die ( Exodus 33;20). People have only seen similarities of God both in OT and NT.

But afrer our resurrection we will get our new spiritual bodies similar to Jesus' body and we will see God's Face and live with Him/Them for ever ( 1 John 3:1-3).

    FROM: Bibleask.org

"And, behold, thy cousin Elizabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren" ( Luke 1:36).

How were Mary and Elizabeth related?

The word "cousin" in Greek is "suggenis" which means "kinswoman" or "relative." The word "suggenis" simply implies that Mary and Elizabeth were relatives, with no indication as to degree of relationship.

The word "cousin" was first used here in Wycliffe's translation. This was during a time when the word did not have the specific meaning it does now. There is no exact term in Greek, Hebrew, or Aramaic to denote what we describe today as a "cousin."

The law made provision for the intermarriage of the tribes ( Numbers 36:6), and members of the tribes of Levi and Judah often intermarried. Elizabeth was of the tribe of Levi. "and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth" ( Luke 1:5).

Mary was of the tribe of Judah. "To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary" ( Luke 1:27). If Mary was of Judah, it seems that Mary's father would also be of Judah. Therefore, it is possible that Mary's connection with Elizabeth was either through her mother or through Elizabeth's mother.

    A question

Some may ask: how Elisabeth, who was one of the daughters of Aaron ( Luke 1:5) and consequently of the tribe of Levi, could be cousin to Mary, who was of the house of David, and consequently of the tribe of Judah ( Luke 1:3) because of the law ( Numbers 36:6,7)?

The answer is that the word cousin can be taken in two senses: one in a large sense as Paul called all the Jews his kinsmen ( Romans 9:3). And the other in a strict sense, for the daughters of the tribe of Levi can actually marry into any other tribes, having no inheritance to carry away, to violate the law ( Numbers 36:1-13).

Dear Mark. I am really sorry to read your daughter's sad story. What to say? No words. I pray your daughter listens to your advice and seek the Lord This must be always the first step. Go back to our Fathers house and get blessed.

Now as far as marriage is concerned, in Christianity there are many beliefs, starting from remarriage not permitted to you can separate for any reason and remarry as many times as you like and lately you can marry and remarry male to male or female to female. What can smd say?

The verses you mentioned in simple words say.

    1 Corinthians 7: 27-29

    27. Are you married? Do not seek to separate. (Because is not permitted)

Are you unmarried ( for men) to a woman?. Do not seek to marry.(Paul implies to choose to devote to God )

    28. But if you marry (talks about the unmarried) you have not sinned. If a girl (now for women) marries she hasn't sin....

As i see it nowhere says that the divorced can remarry .

It is very difficult for smd to accept that he/she cannot remarry, especially if he/she is a young person. But i think God gives His grace and strength to follow His Word. I can't find anything else to say.

    God bless you all.
  • Adam - In Reply on Revelation 10 - 4 years ago
Hi Danielle, have you read John 1:1-3? Because what you stated seems contradictory to this.

You wrote: "He was also created by God"

KJV says in John 1:1 "Word was God" and John 1:14-15 reveals that the Word is Jesus, because He's exactly the one who came in the flesh that John the baptist bore witness to, which eliminates any possible confusion with anyone else. This absolutely confirms with 100% certainty and no possible misunderstanding that the Word is Jesus, and thus, Jesus is God.

John 1:2. God didn't create Himself. Jesus didn't create Himself. God the Father didn't create Jesus. Jesus was already there from the beginning and he made all things John 1:3.

You said to pray for right and wrong, truth and lies, and I agree! I believe these verses in John is the truth and I believe anything said contradictory to God's Word is false. I pray that anyone reading this discussion will know the truth, that the truth of God's Word is made obvious in the hearts of those in this forum.

So what was the forbidden fruit? And why did 'man' decide to call it an apple? Why would this be a secret? Luke 8:17 says nothing shall remain secret or hidden. This seems very important to me. Was not the Tree of Life in the garden, as well as the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? Why would it not be revealed what the 'fruit' of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is?

In Matt 12:33 and Luke 6:44 it speaks to a tree being known by his fruit.

And then there is I John 3:12 where it says Cain "was of that wicked one"?

    Hello again, Roy,

No, I am not a pastor, clergyman, nor religious leader. I just happen be very familiar with the Roman Catholic Church and its teachings and practices. I have been a believer all of my life as far back as I can remember. It has been a blessing to have walked with our Lord all of these years. I am a very inquisitive person, so I like to study up on topics and see how they align with the Word.

The two witnesses are the 144,000 sealed saints from both houses of Israel.

I challenge you to prove that they are not one and the same.

On the other hand, Malachi 4:5 is one person, in the order of Elijah, with a separate mission from the saints.

Thanks Adam, just got home. My hand is very numb now but will wear off in a few hours. Then I will be able to determine the pain level and how to treat that. I appreciate your prayers as I recover this week and go in on Friday for my second surgery.
