verse 38 Just what part of "every one of you " do you not understand? Every one means all. This is what you MUST do.

Whoso boasteth himself of a false GIFT is like clouds and wind without rain Proverbs 25 14. Behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that use their TONGUES, and say, He saith. Jer 23 31. Wherefore TONGUES are for a sign, NOT TO THEM THAT BELIEVE!!! 1 Cor 14 22. For the Jews require a SIGN, 1 Cor 1 22. An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a SIGN!! Matt 12 39. In the book of Acts tongues were spoken on three occations, Ch 2,10, and 19. All three places JEWS who require a SIGN were present. You are not a Jew. And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, Rev 16 13. Frogs catch their prey with their tongue. WATCH that little member. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his TONGUE, but DECEIVETH his own heart, this man 's religion is vain. You 've been warned that that tongue will be set on fire of hell. Trust Christ alone to be saved or 1 Cor 14 38 is your verse.

To have a nice day Acts ch. 2 v 38 comment. There is nothing confusing about this verse. It is actually what Jesus said to His disciples before going to heaven Math 28 v 19 is very definitely talking about the same thing. Read it please . Thank you
  • Have a nice day on Acts 2 - 11 years ago
The Devil has used Acts 2 28 to damn many souls to hell and if you don 't watch out you will go too. Why go by Acts 2 38, a verse you get confused on when you can go by a clear verse by Paul the apostle to the gentiles Acts 9 15, Rom 11 13, etc. Look at Romans 10 9. That will get you straight to Heaven. If you want to be deceived, the idols in your heart will give you a bible verse to get you there. See Ezekiel 14 verses 1 through 9.
  • Randy on Acts 2 - 11 years ago
The Bible is to be interpreted by the Bible. This said, as for Peter baptizing only in the name of Jesus is a misunderstanding of Acts 2 38. Compare it with Romans 6 3 "Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? " Also Galatians 3 27 "For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. "

Hello everyone, God is a just God but if none of us follow his direction we are going to miss heaven. God gave us a great plan of salvation using Peter as his mouth piece as he used Moses in the old testament, Jesus spoke to Peter and said thou art Peter and upon this rock I will not maybe build My Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it in Matthew 16 18 19 and as you follow in the bible and find the day Peter used the keys you will find him on the day of Pentecost when the keys were used Acts 2 36 47 and this gospel continues today it 's for everyone not just for the apostles back then and be sincere and try it for yourself, be safe rather than sorry. Peter obeyed Jesus command and Acts 2 39 speaks out loud. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And no one else can do any calling, seek out your own salvation and don 't just listen to everyone that consider themselves a preacher because the Bible tells us to seek it out for ourselves besides how can any of us say amen to the preaching if we don 't know its even in the Bible just because not suppose to, Study, Study and Study the word. God Bless You All !
  • Martin on Acts 2 - 11 years ago
Please read well the Bible and use the Holy Ghost to explain it. What Peter said is correct. He told people to be baptized in the name of Jesus. But do not think that when the act of baptizing itseft comes, that he did not use the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The meaning of what he said refers only to the fact that every think we do, we do it because of Jesus that God gave us as our savior. For example, if you say to someone "Come to Jesus ". Then do you think that this person will come only to Jesus and will have nothing to do with the Father God and the Holy Spirit? The ansuer is no. Then this is the same of what Peter said!
  • Shibiru on Acts 2 - 11 years ago
They preach what Jesus order them, baptazing all peoples by the name of Jesus
  • Christina on Acts 2:38 - 11 years ago
While it is clear here that Peter did baptize in the name of Jesus alone, in Matthew 28 19 JESUS Himself commanded his disciples, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. " I tend to pay more attention to the words in red. Regarding being completely submersed in water for baptism although I have been , I do not believe is a requirement for salvation. The thief on the cross by his own admission did state that he deserved to be there. He had just met Jesus at that point, and yet Jesus promised him in Luke 23 43, "And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, today shalt thou be with me in paradise. " At no point would that thief have been baptized prior to his crucifixion.
  • Thy word is truth on Acts 2 - 12 years ago
There is no salvation message in Acts 2. They said What must WE do? Not one person asked what must I do to be saved. There is no mention of the blood atonement in this chapter. There is no mention of Christ dying FOR sins. This is their second chance to receive their Messiah that they had rejected. That 's why Christ said on the cross, Father forgive them for they know not what they do. He did forgive them and as a nation they turned Him down again in Acts 7. He was STANDING on the right hand of the Father ready to come back if they would receive Him. They rejected Him and He continued on with the Gentiles and will until shortly He begins to deal with the Jews when the rapture happens. Acts 2 is not how were saved. Read 1 Corinthians 15 verses 1 through 4.
  • KJB on Acts 2 - 12 years ago
The other disciples didn 't correct him because what he said was all they knew at that time. Acts is a transitional book. Until Acts chapter 7 the kingdom is still being offered. See Jesus standing in verse 55 at the right hand of God by the way. See GODHEAD in Acts 17 29, Rom 1 20, Col 2 9. Anyway they didn 't start getting straight on the Gentiles being saved by grace through faith until Acts 10. The Lord had to get Peter straight on his doctrine and they were baptized in the name of the Lord. The Father is called LORD in Jude 5 and the O.T. and the Son is called Lord in Phil 2 verse 11 and the Holy Spirit is called Lord in 2Cor 3 verse 17 and that is Gentile baptism matching Matthew 28 verse 19. You can 't find Acts 2 verse 38 being repeated again. Look at the words in the verse not what your pastor says they say. Please see that in Acts 10 they received the Holy Ghost before baptism in verse 47 then were baptized in the name of the Lord. It did not say Jesus name. You have to go by the text, not what you insert in it. By Acts ch 15 the apostles have their doctrine straight because they have realzed the Jews as a nation have completely rejected the Messiah and He has turned to the Gentiles. See in ch 15 the same Peter of Acts 2 38 says in 15 verse 9 PURIFING THEIR HEARTS BY FAITH and in verse 11 But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we sahll be saved, EVEN AS THEY. Acts 2 28 is not for us today. I know it 's hard after being taught that all your life but God 's word stands as the plumbline. Have a nice day 1Cor 15 verse 38. "
  • Liz on Acts 2 - 12 years ago
Do all things in the name of Jesus. Baptize in the name of the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit is the name of Jesus. God is a jealous God so if he is not Jesus then why would he say do all things in the name of Jesus? Why would he say that all power in Heaven and on earth is givin to Jesus? Would a jealous person want all glory to go to someone other than himself? Thou shalt have NO other Gods before me. Think on that.
  • Jason wilson on Acts 2:38 - 12 years ago
If peter was wrong on the day of pentecost wouldnt the other disciples have corrected him?i think they would have!so how many times can you find where the trinity formula was used in the new testament? How many times can you find where acts 2 38 was obeyed?

" Daniel 9 7 says O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day to the men of JUDAH, and to the inhabitants of JERUSALEM, and unto all ISRAEL, that are near, and that are FAR OFF, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee. And that is not a reference to Ephesians 2 verse 13. It hadn 't been written yet and Paul wasn 't even saved yet. The AFAR OFF refers to the JEWS. Get saved in Romans chapter 10, not Acts 2 verse 38. "
  • Amy on Acts 2 - 12 years ago
To the person that said Acts 2 38 couldn 't save a tadpole that Paul was only speaking to the Jews, then what do u think of verse 39? It says that the promise is unto u, to your children to ALL that are afar off, as many as The Lord our God shall call. That tells me that the promise is for me also, that this IS the way to salvation

Acts 2 38 it 's the key too the Kingdom. the truth.
  • KJB on Acts 2 - 12 years ago
Why aren 't "WE " pious. Take a look at the sermons of Jesus and Paul and see that they used "YOU " instead of "WE ". Lets not offend anyone now. They thought Jesus could have been "Elias, and others, Jeremias, " Matt 16. Read Jer. Chapter 23 and compare it to Matthew 23 and see the resemblance. Having said all that, Paul had to straighten Peter out on his doctrine, see Galatians 2 verse 11 and Jesus had to get him straight several times see Matthew 16 verse 23. Having said that, Peters message to the JEWS is not for us today. By Acts 15 he had found out it was by FAITH and no works. I hope you believe that. ACTS 16 verse 31 will help.
  • Jeff on Acts 2 - 12 years ago
To the man who said that " Acts 2 38 couldn 't save a tadpole ". If I read my bible correctly baptism is for the remission of sins and The Holy Spirit is the promised sign of entering in to the church. Since they didn 't have bibles back in those day to let every tom, ** or harry give his opinion on. The letters from Romans to Revelation would not have been given to those who were lost for they were letters to the churches read in the gathering of those saved Holy Ghost filled, sin remmitted people . In essence if you haven 't followed the command of Peter in Acts 2 38, your reading someone elses mail without a reference of relationship. You are deceived by the ignorance of your arrogance.
  • Abrham on Acts 2:38 - 12 years ago
First of all I would like to say to the two groups to think that Peter obeyed Jesus ' command . means Peter knew the name of Jesus represented in divinity. So when Peter baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus , he acknowledged that the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit is the side that name. in this understanding peter did. I do not agree when you say baptism in the name of the father son and holy spirit has not been accepted or not biblical . and I do not agree when people say to baptize in the name of Jesus only satanic teaching . One must understand that the so called Divinity refers to the Father Spirit word of God the son The Holy Spirit Spirit of God and these are just God . But we must not forget that we are obliged to follow accepted teaching and preaching of the apostles . because they were the only legitimate fundamental sources of us. When people try to fool themselves by saying that we do not want to follow the teaching peter we have the Holy Spirit that can lead us to the truth this is simply arrogant. it is true that the Spirit of God can lead us I agree, but only when we walk in principle. Let us not think that we are smarter than others. Such language does not work in the house of God.

Acts 2 38 couldn 't save a tadpole. This is a message to Jews verse 5, in Judea verse 14, in Israel verse 22, on a Jewish feast day Pentecost verse 1, see also Lev 23 15 16 . No one there asked "what must I do to be saved? " They asked "What must WE do? " This verse is speaking to Jews who had crucified their Messiah and God was dealing with them as a nation. Please don 't go to hell in this verse. Read the rest of the Book. You will find that everyone else in this book is saved before Baptism.

GOD IS EVER TRUE, HIS WORD IS CERTAINLY SURE. AS HE SPOKE THROUGH HIS SERVANT JOEL THAT HE WILL POUR OUT HIS SPIRIT UPON ALL FESH, THAT, THE SONS AND DAUGHTERS SHALL PREPHESIZE,SEE VISION, DREAM DREAMS. ALL HIS PROMISES CAME TO PASS. CERTAINLY, NONE OF HIS WORD SHALL LEFT UNFULFIL. HE SAID HE HIS COMING BACK TO TAKE HIS OWN. HOW PREPARED ARE WE TO MEET THE LORD AT HIS COMING.THIS IS THE RIGHT TIME TO ACCEPT JESUS AS YOUR PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOUR, BECAUSE ON THAT DAY OF JUDGEMENT, THERE WILL BE AGONY AND SNATCHING OF TEETH IN THE HELL FOR THOSE WHO REJECTED CHRIST. "LET THIS BE IN YOUR MEMORY ALWAYS ".

Acts 2 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come The word of God said the Moon will turn into Blood not the color of blood. Stop changing Gods words. You will see the blood just like you will see the Sun turn into darkness.
  • Ar on Acts 2 - 12 years ago
This Red moon will follow with another 3 red moons one this year and two next year. This is called a tetrad moon, which has happened many times since our Lord Jesus time. The Significance of this tetrad moon is that all of them fall on Jewish holidays The first one which occurred two days ago on the 15th April 2014 was on the Jewish Passover day The next one will be on the 8th of October 2014, which is again Hebrew Sukkot day Then next year again there will be a red moon on April 4, 2015, Jewish Passover day And the 4the one will be again on Jewish holiday Sukkot , on28th September, 2015 There have been other Tetrad moons in the past again on Jewish significant holidays

JESUS IS BURIED, SO ARE WE BURIED WITH HIM THROUGH BAPTISM IN HIS NAME.RESURRECTION OF CHRIST JESUS FOR US TO RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST AND FOR US TO WALK IN NEWNESS OF LIFE. DEATH, BURIAL AND RESURRECTION FOR CHRIST. REPENTANCE, BAPTISM AND SIN NO MORE FOR MANKIND.
  • Monica Hammond on Acts 2 - 12 years ago
This is the promise being fulfilled that Jesus Christ gave to his disciples in Acts 1 8. The promise is still available to us today if we will accept it. We must be born again according to Jesus Christ given to Nicodemus in John 3 3,5. We must repent, baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins, and we shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. This is the fulfilment of the new covenant that Jesus Christ came to give his life 's precious pure blood for. This promise is for all people who have ears to hear it. .
