(9)The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
So we must all be aware, that the coming of our savior, might not even be a thousand years from now, but even 10,000; But the day of Jesus calling us home individually, we know is real soon, sooner for some than others; so are short time here (Which feels long to us) is to race after us becoming like Christ, (Us receiving the converted nature of the Holy Ghost) then after receiving, our second goal is to endure till the end of our lives............. For now is temporary, but the end of this life is eternal; So you choose; this life, all to yourself, and yours; Or the remainder of your lives to God, in exchange for his eternal happiness. YOU CHOOSE.
We have a cat that was found on our land who recently had five kittens. We have watched as the mother kitty has met the kittens needs. After about two weeks, she moved them from where she gave birth. Some time later, she moved them to another spot. Eventually, they began to explore and move into greater enlargements.
The other night, when the kittens were eight weeks old, they went off the high porch which they had never went off of before - it was night.
They went down the steps and on to the area below, mother kitty was with them. This is the first time I had noticed them go down to the ground. I thought it was a milestone for them and felt a sense of enjoyment at their new milestone. I sat on top of the porch and watched them. One little, black kitty was at the edge of the landing onto the grass. It was curiously abounding. Another black kitty was on the other side of the porch exploring. I got a flashlight to see where all the kittens were. When I looked by the light into the darkness, I saw a pair of eyes at the edge of the yard; they were low to the ground. When I looked to the left, I noticed a white and colored cat had come around the corner where the other black kitten was exploring. The kitty had hunched up and was hissing. I did not think the Momma kitty had seen this cat and what was happening since she was on the other side of the porch with the other black kitty. I called the Momma kitty, and when I did, the other cat turned and went out of sight. I went inside to tell my sons what was happening. As I was about to tell my son about what had just happened, he asked me had I heard that noise. I said, "What noise?" I went back outside and when the kitties were all inside - one was missing, blue eyes. I looked everywhere inside and realized she was not inside. We took flashlights and looked outside - she was no where to be found.
How quickly death snatched away a life. The first night off the porch, at the beginning of their exhilaration, death was lying in wait.
I thought of the thief in the night; how the thief lay in darkness waiting to kill in the night. I thought of Jesus saying He would come as a thief in the night. I think of that verse in a more positive, personal way now. When Satan thinks he has his system with all enclosed with no way of escape, like a thief in the night, Jesus will snatch us away. In this case, snatching us out of Satan's trap of death into abundant life with Jesus; whereas, with the kitty, the kitty was snatched from life unto death.
I called the kitty that was snatched away, blue eyes. She had blue eyes. All kittens are born blind and deaf. They all are born with blue eyes that change color as they mature. We are much like the kitties in this respect. We are all born blind and deaf in regards to us all being born with a sin nature. In respect to the color of the kittens eyes being blue until they reach a certain milestone in development, I associate blue eyes with innocence and vulnerability. Satan may look upon the Lord's people as having blue eyes and desire to overtake them into death; but, I thank God that we are not destined unto death, but, the Lord, as a thief in the night, will deliver us from the jaws of death.
I was flipping through the television channels and caught the tail end of a program. I heard Ed Hinson say something to the effect that God gives us enough information about the end time... but not enough to scare the day lights out of us.
I thought, that is exactly what Satan wants to do - scare the daylights out of us.
Jesus said many times to His disciples, "Be not afraid." Or, in other words, "Don't let Satan scare the daylights out of you."
We are to be of faith and love keeping the daylights shining out from us.
Paul say, "But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation." ( I Thessalonians 5:8)
Don't let Satan scare the daylights out of you.
