When God gives us directions we must follow them. The man of God did not seek counsel from the Lord when the father of king Jeroboam found and deceived him. When king Jeroboam hand dried up at the alter, that should have been enough convincing that Lord God is awesome. There are consequences when we disobey God. I found this passage questionable. The punishment suppose to be given to the old prophet that lied to this young prophet. The bible recons that the man that took him home was an old prophet. Even God prophesied through him that the young prophet will die, it came to pass. So if God is really using the old prophet, I see no reason the young prophet should not believe him. I found this passage contradicting.

Christmas, Easter, good Friday, and the rest of these modern Christian holidays (Holy Days) are not biblical. Study and obey the words, commandments, and feasts of GOD (biblical). AS IN JEROBOAM, TIMES, WE HAVE PRIEST, AND MEN OF GOD, OF THE LOWEST OF PEOPLE, YET, THEY MINISTER, THEREFORE, WE AS A PEOPLE, NEED TO GO TO THE SOURCE, "THE BIBLE", AND STUDY TO SHOW THYSELF APPROVED, RIGHTLY DIVIDING THE WORD OF TRUTH", NOT DEPENDING ON THE LEGS OF MAN.
