    @ Rose John 14:8-9

8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?

"Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another." In the same spirit as, "love suffers long and is kind;" we should be careful not to find fault with each other, but rather to support each other in the Lord; with the same good mind toward them as the Lord has. Inasmuch as we have a fear and dread of the Supreme Greatness of God we should reverence His image in all men.
  • Rose on 1 Corinthians 11 - 8 years ago
Martha, But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in Heaven. This was Jesus speaking to his disciples before he sent them out to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. They believed in God , but refused to believe Jesus came as the Son of God, to do the work of God, his Father in Heaven. Jhon 14:20 I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you .

@Bruce... Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

Martha:Yes,Trinity=Three in Heaven:The Father,The Word and The Holy Ghost: and these three are one. / and The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us---John1:14 /In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:Colossians1:14/--- washed us from our sins in his ownblood: Revelation1:5 / Baptized with The Holy Ghost Matthew3:11 / changed 1Corinthians5:17 / ; 66 Books=1Bible
  • Martha on 1 Corinthians 11 - 8 years ago
@Bruce...the scripture you gave John 5:7 was well said but you didn't finish the scripture. You left out: "And these three are one"! Sounds like one God to me!
1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
  • Bruce on 1 Corinthians 11 - 8 years ago
Irene: For there are three that bear record in heaven, The Father,The Word, and The Holy Ghost--- 1 John 5:7( sounds like Trinity) They have always been. They are the us,in:Let us make man in our image---Genesis1:26. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us---John1:14./ And washed us from our own sins in His own Blood--- Revelations1:5
  • Irene123 on 1 Corinthians 11 - 8 years ago
Stephen 2 Cor. 11:29 - did you know that the trinity was begun only in 325 a.d. ..... ? and that the church of Jesus began in circa 33 a.d. ..... ? and that the very FIRST message preached in Jesus church advocated the NAME of JESUS in water baptism, and that if you truly READ it, slowly - you will see Matt. 28:19 says the same thing? " ... baptizing them in the NAME of ..... "
  • Stephen on 1 Corinthians 11 - 8 years ago
    Veni, Sancte Spiritus.
Before scripture, in scripture, and ever since Scripture, it is "the Lord's body" (Cor 11:29).
"..as we have been taught, the food which has been made into the Eucharist by the Eucharistic prayer set down by Him, and by the change of which our blood and flesh is nurtured, is both the flesh and the blood of that incarnated Jesus" -St. Justin Martyr (AD 151)

    Omutichi - very well said.
  • Omutichi on 1 Corinthians 11 - 8 years ago
It is important to recognize God in his purity.that is why we are given a second chance through salvation.it is then important to reach out to christ through getting born again or receiving salvation and at this point one becomes free and can freely take the Lords table.sin separets us from the Lord and and hence unworthy to partake of His table.if we do it we bring judgement upon ourselves.
  • Shirley Stiltner on 1 Corinthians 11 - 8 years ago
I believe it is a guideline for us to go by, it says it very clearly
  • Bruce on 1 Corinthians 11 - 8 years ago
The Lord's supper,Is A picture of Christ on the cross, suffering for our sin. There are some worthy enough to unworthily partake of the supper, eating and drinking damnation to himself. We are to be a light in the world. When we sin:go to the Lord instantly. When you come to the supper table, wash up, show respect for the blood of Christ.
Proverbs 14:14 shall be filled with his own ways:

    No transubstantiation here. !!!
Yet another totally absurd notion confected by men dressed in rich vestments to give the impresion off power. Instead why not invoke the fulness of God the Holy Spirit!!??
  • Ben Weaver on 1 Corinthians 11 - 9 years ago
Frequently misinterpreted passage! The Greek had no indication to a symbol, but simply stated, Because of the angels, (see Heb. 1:14) the woman ought to have power (jurisdiction, rule, or right) on/over her head. Rev. 2:26 uses the same two Gr. words as: "I will give him power over the nations." Our verses 2 thru 9 are referring to original lost creation, thereafter to being in the Lord. vs.11

In Hebrew had means prime, i.e Prime Minister is above minister. Rosh Memchala - means HEad of the Government - Prime Minister. It also means beginning. Like Rosh Hashana is the beginning of Year.

We should be followers of chist like Paul was, when we are having communion we should search our self and make it right with the people we had wronhed then ask the lord for forgiveness before we take part. If we don 't then we are doing it in vain. It is considered unworthy in the eyes of god.

I don 't think it wrong biblicaly for man to have long hair, indeed I got a very long hair
  • Edwinbrooker on 1 Corinthians 11 - 10 years ago
    About holy communion
  • Pam on 1 Corinthians 11:15 - 10 years ago
First, what does one consider long hair. My hair does not hang down my back so am I to cover my hear in shame. No. Does that make The Most High GOD not love me. Please pray if any man or woman believe that 1Cor 11:14,15 states otherwise. Pray and ask for true meaning of all things...SHALAM

1 CORINTHIANS 11:1 COMMENTS 5 24 2015 2:35 PM Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ . Apostle Paul exhorted the believers must be like of him to follow towards in Christ. As in Zech.7:6 Matt.5:16 John15:8 Phil.1:11. Lord, give us a strength that can follow into your righteousness. A-men.

Decades back, the Lord 's supper was taken in every church I 'd attended, but these days, it 's mostly once a month that the Lord 's supper is there is most church as in 1 Corinthians 11:25 it is written, "Do have it as often as you can? "
  • Norm on 1 Corinthians 11 - 10 years ago
Do not be deceived but understand that The Lord God Almighty IS the author as clearly stated in 2 Timothy 3:16 and 1 Corinthians 14:33. ALL scripture is inspired by the LORD God. It cannot be pick and choose. May the LORD bless all who yearn for the knowledge of the truth. Amen
  • Betty Betts on 1 Corinthians 11 - 10 years ago
I want to know the age of accountibility? Bc our church says it is wrong to take communion unless you are a christians, and some of theirs kids still take communion without accepting Christ for themselves
  • Lilian on 1 Corinthians 11 - 10 years ago
Jesus have redeemed all of us in the cross, we are all saved both men and women. Jesus loves us so much and in him we are one in Christ. Jesus chose the first apostle which is a woman to preach his good news. Jesus has perfectly designed a women for the man. For all women we are already loosen. We already made whole by touching Jesus garments. We must believe Jesus now as a Son of the Living God who came into flesh and died for our sake. Thanks to Jesus for his precious blood that shed for us. We must love and accept Jesus commandments until rapture. Be blessed and continue walk with Jesus in faith and not by sight. Jesus loves you.. Amen

Verses 29 30: "For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord 's body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. " I 'ld like to better understand this. Can anyone present other Scripture that will help? The verses just before these state we must examine ourselves to make sure we are not taking the sacrement unworthily. Yet, many have a mind set that everything they do is wrong even when it may not be...as influenced by their family upbringing. We humans, also, have great skill at rationalizing everything we do so as to more easily live with outselves. I personally do not trust myself to know myself as I do, indeed, see thru a glass darkly. Yet, in order to take the sacrement referred to in these two verses...without bringing illness and disease and even death to my body...I need some help ... please.

I understand that we must come boldly before the throne of grace never with a sense of condemnation but trusting that the finished work of Jesus Christ is sufficient. It paid all our sin debt and receiving, acknowledging and rejoicing in that gift we can come in Christ as the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus 1 John 4:17 to partake of His body and blood. Our worthiness to take it lies in His redemptive sacrifice which we are remembering. We are never the issue. He is, His finished work is. Look to ourselves and we are condemned. Look to Jesus and we are justified by faith in His finished work.

i think some of the verses r actually views of the author and nothing to do with god.its not mentioned any where that these verses women should have long and men short hair and covering the head or not were spoken by god jesus.i would like to follow the commands spoken from the mouth of jesus only.
  • LIZ on 1 Corinthians 11 - 10 years ago
I WOULD LIKE TO DRAW ATTENTION TO THE VERSE THAT SAYS A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE HER HAIR COVERED OR IT DISHONORETH HER HEAD. "BUT EVERY WOMAN THAT PRAYETH OR PREPPHESIETH WITH HER HEAD UNCOVERED DISHONORETH HER HEAD "....THEN IN A FOLLOWING VERSE IT SAYS " "A MAN INDEED OUGHT NOT TO COVER HIS HEAD "....SO I SAY TO YOU IF HAIR IS INDEED A COVERING ALL MEN SHOULD BE SHAVEN. I FEEL THAT PERHAPS THERE IS MUCH CONTRAVERSY OF THIS SUBJECT BECUASE THERE IS CONVICTION THERE TO WEAR A COVERING. IF THERE IS A CONVICTION OR IF YOU ARE QUESTIONING I ENCOURAGE YOU SISTERS IN CHRIST TO TRY IT FOR A WEEK. SEE IF YOU DO NOT NOTICE A BLESSING FROM GOD AND REMEMBER "I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHICH STRENGTHENETH ME ".
