37For by thy wordes thou shalt bee iustified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. 38¶ Then certaine of the Scribes, and of the Pharisees, answered, saying, Master, we would see a signe from thee. 39But hee answered, and said to them, An euill and adulterous generation seeketh after a signe, and there shall no signe be giuen to it, but the signe of the Prophet Ionas. 40For as Ionas was three dayes and three nights in the whales belly: so shal the sonne of man be three daies and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41The men of Nineue shall rise in iudgement with this generation, and shall condemne it, because they repented at the preaching of Ionas, and behold, a greater then Ionas is here.
