3The voice of one crying in the wildernesse, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. 4Iohn did baptize in the wildernesse, and preach the baptisme of repentance, for the remission of sinnes. 5And there went out vnto him all the land of Iudea, and they of Ierusalem, and were all baptized of him in the riuer of Iordane, cōfessing their sinnes. 6And Iohn was clothed with camels haire, and with a girdle of a skin about his loines: and he did eat locusts and wilde honie, 7And preached, saying, There commeth one mightier then I after me, the latchet of whose shooes I am not worthy to stoupe downe, and vnloose.
