26What is written in the law? how readest thou? 27And he answering, said, Thou shalt loue the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soule, and with all thy strength, and with all thy minde, and thy neighbour as thy selfe. 28And he said vnto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt liue. 29But he willing to iustifie himselfe, said vnto Iesus, And who is my neighbour? 30And Iesus answering, said, A certaine man went downe from Hierusalem to Iericho, and fel among theeues, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leauing him halfe dead.
