3All thy rulers are fled together, they are bound by the archers: all that are found in thee are bound together, which haue fled from farre. 4Therefore sayd I; Looke away from me, I will weepe bitterly, labour not to comfort me; because of the spoiling of the daughter of my people. 5For it is a day of trouble, and of treading downe, and of perplexitie by the Lord God of hostes in the valley of vision, breaking downe the walles, and of crying to the mountaines. 6And Elam bare the quiuer with charets of men and horsemen, and Kir vncouered the shield. 7And it shall come to passe that thy choicest valleys shall be full of charets, and the horsemen shall set themselues in aray at the gate.

22:5 Treading down - In which my people are trodden under foot by their enemies. By the Lord - Not only men, but God himself fought against them. Walls - Of the strong cities of Judah. Mountains - With such loud and dismal outcries as should reach to the neighbouring mountains.
