Verona, if you read the Scripture carefully you will understand that is not the case that Abraham didn 't turn his back on Hagar and his son Ishmael. He was simply obeying God 's command although Sarah suggested it to send Hagar and her son alway because God knew He was going to create two separate nations of the two sons who would be at war with each other even and especially today in the middle east. That command from God grieved Abraham deeply to send them away but the bible says, 1 Sam. 15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath rejected thee, Saul, as King. Isa. 55:8 '9 says. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. v 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Hello Kofi Peprah If I can say it like this, after Sarai gave the handmaid to Abram and the handmaid discovered she had conceived, Sarai stated that she was despised in her handmaid eyes. Sarai also knew she was wrong for what she had done by giving her handmaid to her husband, Genesis 16 5. She did not take God at his word. Sometimes people do this today they do not believe God s word. Then after this God renewed his covenant with Abram and changed both his name and Sarai names to Abraham and Sarah and she bared him a son, Genesis 17 10 thru 21. Perhaps Sarah, still being filled with guilt of what she had done could not bare the mocking 's of a child and his mother. Simply put Sarah did not want Ismael heir with her son, Genesis 21 9 thru 13. So she had Abraham cast out Hagar and her son.
