4Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the Name of the LORD. 5¶ And Lot also which went with Abram, had flocks and heards, & tents. 6And the land was not able to beare them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together. 7And there was a strife betweene the heardmen of Abrams cattell, and the heardmen of Lots cattell: And the Canaanite, and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land. 8And Abram said vnto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, betweene mee and thee, and betweene my heardmen and thy heardmen: for wee bee brethren.

9 years AgoJosephWhen God told Abraham in Genesis 12 1 3 to leave for a place an unknown place later identified as Canaan , he was not told to take anybody outside his nuclear family along. No wonder there was strife with Lot 's his nephew herdsmen later. This lesson to me shows we must try our possible best to follow God 's specific instructions and not just rely on our feelings and emotions. Where we are not sure or clear, it is better to take the matter back to God to get the full details. Presumption could lead to undue stress, strife and problems. However, God uses our experiences to teach us deep truths about Himself and all around us. May God help us to follow the specific divine revelations He has given us for our lives in Jesus Name.Flag
