9And Abram iourneyed, going on still toward the South. 10¶ And there was a famine in the land, and Abram went downe into Egypt, to soiourne there: for the famine was grieuous in the land. 11And it came to passe when he was come neere to enter into Egypt, that he said vnto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a faire woman to looke vpon. 12Therefore it shall come to passe, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will saue thee aliue. 13Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister, that it may be wel with me, for thy sake; and my soule shall liue, because of thee.

Gen 14:8 says, he was King of Salem, which mean peace, and priest of the most high. Heb. 7:3 says, concerning this man that he is "without father, without mother, without descent having no beginning of days nor end of life but made like unto the Son of God abideth a Priest continually. 8 years AgoDewey JJim, yes the bible is speaking of Israel because Abram grandson Jacob who name was changed to Israel by God was still in his grandfather 's loins is the person the nation is named after. The true subject is God, Jesus Christ our lord and Saviour, and the Holy Ghost. God said in Ezekiel 39:7 " So will I make my Holy name known midst of my people Israel .....
