3Not giuen to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre, but patient, not a brawler, not couetous; 4One that ruleth well his owne house, hauing his children in subiection with all grauitie. 5(For if a man know not how to rule his owne house, how shall he take care of the Church of God?) 6Not a nouice, lest being lifted vp with pride, hee fall into the condemnation of the deuill. 7Moreouer, hee must haue a good report of them which are without, lest he fall into reproch, and the snare of the deuill.
