“And though I haue the gift of prophesie, and vnderstand all mysteries and all knowledge: and though I haue all faith, so that I could remooue mountaines, and haue no charitie, I am nothing.”
1611 King James Version (KJV)
13:2 And though I have the gift of prophecy - Of foretelling future events. And understand all the mysteries - Both of God's word and providence. And all knowledge - Of things divine and human, that ever any mortal attained to. And though I have the highest degree of miracle working faith, and have not this love, I am nothing.
1Co 13:2 Though I have [the gift of] prophecy. Another and a high spiritual gift. See PNT "1Co 12:10". And understand all mysteries. Have supernatural wisdom so as to understand all the secrets of God. And all knowledge. See PNT "1Co 12:8". Though I have all faith. See PNT "1Co 12:9". The faith that imparts miraculous power, faith that could remove mountains. See Mt 17:20. It is clear that Paul knew of the utterance of Christ, since the test of the power of faith is the same.
