Joh 6:15 Perceived that they would come . . . to make him a king. Convinced that he was Christ, they sought to proclaim him king, to raise his standard, and establish his government. To escape their well meant efforts Jesus retired to a mountain alone. We learn elsewhere that he went to pray (Mt 14:23 Mr 6:46).
