8But I will tarry at Ephesus vntill Pentecost. 9For a great doore and effectuall is opened vnto mee, and there are many aduersaries. 10Now if Timotheus come, see that he may be with you without feare: for hee worketh the worke of the Lord, as I also doe. 11Let no man therefore despise him: but conduct him forth in peace, that hee may come vnto me: for I looke for him with the brethren. 12As touching our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come vnto you with þe brethren, but his wil was not at all to come at this time: but he wil come when hee shall haue conuenient time.

16:10 Without fear - Of any one's despising him for his youth. For he worketh the work of the Lord - The true ground of reverence to pastors. Those who do so, none ought to despise.

1Co 16:10 Now if Timotheus come. We learn that Timothy and Erastus had been sent to Macedonia, and Timothy was instructed to stop at Corinth on the way (Ac 19:22 1Co 4:17). See that he may be with you without fear. Paul asks that he be kindly received.
