“Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?”
King James Version (KJV)
14:7 Ye have known - Ye have begun to know him.
14:10 I am in the Father - The words that I speak, &c. - That is, I am one with the Father, in essence, in speaking, and in acting.
14:11 Believe me - On my own word, because I am God. The works - This respects not merely the miracles themselves, but his sovereign, Godlike way of performing them.
Joh 14:9 He that hath seen me hath seen the Father. Philip wanted a literal sight of God with the natural eyes, when God incarnate had been present with him for three years, manifesting the mind, the purity, the saving power, the fatherly tenderness, the unutterable love of the Father.
